Baby due today, still haven't agreed on a name. Something similar to Cecily or Helena - can you help???

Ok so DH and I cannot agree.

We don't know the sex but are a bit more stumped with girls names.

I love both Cecily and Helena, he thinks they are ponsy. I also love Romily but a close friend has named her baby that about 6 months ago. Same with beatrice and martha.

Dh likes names that are now too popular in my opinion (I think the are nice but I have a popular name and it drove me bonkers at school). eg Poppy, Hannah, Evie, Olivia

Can you help??? Think this baby might be nameless... Looking for classy names that won't date, are pretty but not too girlie and ideally outside the top 30/50.

Boys - maybe alexander or adam. urrghh who knows.

DS 1 is Louis.

How about Elizabeth, Catherine or Alexandra? These are all timeless and elegant in my opinion

Yes I know but need to persuade DH (who i think just dislikes a name because \i suggest it!)

We both LOVE georgia but doesn't go with our surname sadly.

I also like Anna but am a bit worried its too much of my generation rather than now (in other words like being called janet or margaret when you are 30)

What you need to do is get a blokey bloke to suggest Helena to him - or confirm to him it's not poncy.

Or some way so he thinks it was his idea.

Men are so influenced by other blokes - it's infuriating.

Benjamin and James both used in our family. Love them both.
I think boys names don't date as quickly though so may go for soemthing more classic.

amelia - know too many baby amelies (shame as LOVE the film) delia slightly obsessed with mrs d smith so reminds me of her!

Anna is great! No reason at all why you shouldn't use it.

Go on, call her Anna (if she's a girl).

I wouldn't use Adam for a second son. But maybe that's just me being odd? Like Alexander, would have used it myself given the chance.

Emma - it's a classic but not too popular (eg not like Emily which seems to have overtaken it in popularity). We have an Emma and a Martha as I thought they went well together.
