Surely Belle means beautiful and it could therefore just be changed to Pretty Pussy.
Um I'd say a definite no to this one. My sister is Katherine Jane and is known by the family as Kitten Jane but never officially.
Belle (and Beau for boys) are lovely names though, just not in this combo.

StephHaydock · 26/10/2009 20:06

Love Belle. Despise Kitten.

Dont go for Isabelle. Vanilla name of the moment. Belle better!

mrswill · 26/10/2009 20:27

Belle is gorgeous, but kitten is a bit stripper-esque.

CuppaTeaJanice · 26/10/2009 20:31

I think Jonathon Ross has a daughter called Betty Kitten. Is that where you got the idea?

nighbynight · 26/10/2009 20:56

Belle is awful, sounds like Scarlett O'Hara.
Kitten only suitable for a nickname.

Call her Isabelle Catherine, then she can be Belle or Kitten (small Cat, geddit?)?

skyward · 27/10/2009 07:58

My little girl is called Belle, but the name of her birth certificate is Arabella. Wanted her to have a sensible name but could also use Belle as it's lovely. Works well - she gets called Belle by everyone, inc her school, but she loves having Arabella as well and can see her using that more as she gets older.

blametheparents · 27/10/2009 08:10

I thought you were going to call your cat Belle Kitten

Frrrightattendant · 27/10/2009 08:11

Sorry, don't like either

But have heard worse!!

Vivia · 27/10/2009 10:40

No to Belle Kitten! Belle Kitty? It's as close as I can think of to keep the 'feel' that you want and provide real names. But Belle Kitty sounds rather silly too. Please don't officially call your LO kitten.

OrmIrian · 27/10/2009 10:42

What???

Kitten. as in small cat?

Fluffy and cute but with claws?

TheBolter · 27/10/2009 10:46

Sounds like a name Wossy and his wife would make up.

Belle was the name of the Call Girl played by Billy Piper in that series. Kitten adds to the overall industry theme. Don't do it.

Agree that Isabelle Katherine would be a far more sensible alternative!

TheBolter · 27/10/2009 10:46

Don;t know why I put Call Girl in caps... have been up with vomiting child all night and slightly sleepy.

itchyandscratchy · 27/10/2009 10:53

You take a huge risk if you call your child something like that (Kitten).

I once taught a girl called Bambi (NOT a nickname). Luckily she was tiny, with huge eyes. Unluckily it was completely wanky name. I always wondered what additional hell she would have gone through had she been a very large and galumphing child.

CinderellaRach · 27/10/2009 13:45

Thanks for your v honest opinions lol!I know having that kind of middle name is cruel.Jonathan Ross's girl is called Betty Kitten and I've always loved it but I don't want my little one getting bullied so I'll scrap that idea!xxx

Belle Kitty much better.

I quite like Kitten actually, but people might laugh when she's filling in forms, or having her full name read out if she gets married!!

CinderellaRach · 27/10/2009 21:18

Thanks birdofthenorth! It's like a name you'd only get away with in fairy tale world and as I've been reminded it's hideous and I want my child to be bullied!I just can't stand boring names. There's so many samey names.Everyone seems to copy one another. What are your children/future children called?xx

Can't believe the OP started a fake thread about a ridiculous made-up name and then admitted it (on the 'Paige' thread). Cinderella you have far too much time on your hands, honey!

JenJam · 31/10/2009 22:04

wouldn't work for us
my partner had a cat called belle
good idea though Lily with the Belle Kitty formal/classical name idea

CinderellaRach · 01/11/2009 19:56

Vivia honey your name pops up everywhere-pot kettle....?!x
