Scope for teasing with Clementine?

What do you think of Clementine as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.
Dp is set on this. I do like it but I worry it's a bit like Gwyneth Paltrow and her Apple.
Would there be teasing do you think?

I am having a girl and I LOVE Clementine but I can't stand Clem or Clemmy so it's out as far as I am concerned. I think it's a gorgeous name and yes, she would get sung to a lot, but worse things happen at sea and lets face it, everyone gets teased about something!

top name for any future DDs would be Clemency Grace... I think Clementine is also nice.... let's face it there will ALWAYS be something to tease kids about.... it's character building

Agree that a child will be picked on regardless, but I guess it's down to the parents to minimise the teasing potential e.g. not call your child Richard if your surname is Head, etc

I think it's a lovely name. I wouldn't worry about any teasing but I think 'clem' and 'clemmie' abbreviations are a certainty

Think its gorgeous. Can't see why it would prompt teasing - the Clementine song is hardly common currency. My family are teachers and say that there are so many unusual-ish names these days that its quite rare to be teased solely on the basis of your name unless it is really whacky. Unlike in my day when you were fair game if you weren't called Nicola or Clare.

tiney is the other shortened version - no teasing of dd1 friend and the song isn't mentioned either.
