Thoughts on:

Portia
Ambrose
Cleo
Marnie
Rafaella
Evangeline

Is Ambrose for a boy or girl? - thought it was a boys name but all your other names are girls??

I like Portia but think people will think it's Porsche...

In fact I don't dislike any of them but would possibly depend on your surname - the longer names would sound good with a single syllable surname

pollydianasmummy · 16/10/2009 12:06

love cleo

Cortina · 16/10/2009 12:15

Yes Ambrose for a boy.

Thanks so far. How common is Rafaella? I don't know any.

Portia sounds v posh to me, sorry
Like Cleo, Marnie and Evangeline
Rafaella I'd go for only if you have some Italian roots somewhere
Don't like Ambrose

doubleexpresso · 16/10/2009 13:18

Marnie is really great. Evangeline is sweet, would probably get shortened to Evie. Not keen on any of the others.

skyward · 16/10/2009 14:02

Seriously dislike Portia - sounds pretentious at best and Porsche at worst. Sorry. Like Evangeline though.

ButtercupWafflehead · 16/10/2009 14:07

I really liked Portia until I looked up what it meant... it's "Pig".

bellissima · 16/10/2009 14:50

Portia just makes me think of Porsche (and A Fish Called Wanda).

Really like Marnie though - pretty.

liliputlady · 16/10/2009 16:20

Like Evangeline. Wasn't she the lady the Dad married in Nanny Mcphee?

mathanxiety · 16/10/2009 17:37

I don't really like Marnie, but the rest are nice. A lot depends on the surname, though.

HerHonesty · 16/10/2009 19:05

portia always reminds me of a fish called wanda! not really keen on the others either sorry.

bronze · 16/10/2009 19:07

One of my good friends is Raffaela and shes lovely so it makes me think its a lovely name
Not so keen on the others

pointyhat · 16/10/2009 19:15

I really quite like Marnie.

Feierabend · 16/10/2009 19:19

Yup as bronze says the spelling is Raffaela. No go unless you're Italian.

Cleo is lovely, as is Marnie.

CaroJo · 16/10/2009 19:49
