lol
I was just going to reply "its a bit of fat buffoon name"

countrybump · 13/10/2009 11:56

I like it, also like Monty

BarbieLovesKen · 13/10/2009 13:20

Oh dear God no, awful. Really horrible.

sophiesmummie · 13/10/2009 13:22

I like it. I always assumed it was short for Jonathan.

What is "knob's name"?

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 13/10/2009 13:27

I like the name, it was on my list but dh said it was a hooray Henry type of name!

MamaLazarou · 13/10/2009 13:42

Yes. Knobby.

broguemum · 13/10/2009 13:49

I love it.

cece · 13/10/2009 13:51

I love it, DS1 very nearly got called Jonty

mopsyflopsy · 13/10/2009 14:07

I really like Jonty! Not sure I understand the 'knobs name' comment either...

branflake81 · 13/10/2009 16:42

it's a nickname, surely?

hulabaloo · 13/10/2009 16:42

Short for Jonathan, isn't it?

RainRainGoAway · 13/10/2009 16:44

Love it.

It is a great nickname for Jolyon or Jonathon - but it is very Rah!

halfcut · 13/10/2009 16:46

very Hooray Henry

Scottie22 · 13/10/2009 20:45

I love it and was on my list but was very much vetoed by dp
I also like Monty too!!

nooka · 14/10/2009 06:02

It is short for Jonathan, and it is quite hooray Henry. I quite like it, although I'm not keen on Monty at all. Just because it's a bit posh doesn't mean it is for knobs though. there are people who manage to "overcome" their posh backgrounds and actually turn out quite nice

KERALA1 · 14/10/2009 13:52

Adorable. But there is a little boy at dd's pre school called this and he is cute as a button. Then you can be Jonathan or Jon when you become a bank manager/rock star.

CommonNortherner · 14/10/2009 14:46

lol! It was the name of an old English teacher of mine and I would've described him as a fat buffoon at the time!

Quite like it though! But that probably means I'm self-hating and secretly desire to be a class higher than I am!

Whatlovelynames · 14/10/2009 14:50

I think its cute! I'd use Jonathan as a full name, to give him more options later on.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 14/10/2009 17:05

Terrible, like Monty

DougalDoneGood · 16/10/2009 07:39

I quite like it

I know of a Joffy

drainedbrain · 17/10/2009 14:18

He wears rugby shirts and chinos everyday. Is none too intelligent. Is inexplicably successful. That's Jonty.

honeybehappy · 17/10/2009 16:08

it blardy awful, i also know a Monty he has brothers called Ned and Buddy. yuck

boodleboot · 23/10/2009 19:53

oh, i quite like it you know...

but then i really like Jonboy and Jonjo so i don't think i can be counted on....

ThisPhantomPlopsPumpkins · 23/10/2009 20:25

I had such a crush on a Jonty, he was my high school history teacher.

woowa · 24/10/2009 16:31

I love Jonty - it's very south african: Jonty Rhodes - South African Cricketer (sadly deceased I think)
