Middle name for Rosa

So we have finally decided on Rosa (I think) but I am not sure about middle names now. I wanted the middle name to have some family meaning. Ideally, I would love it to be Julia, after my grandmother. But does 'Rosa Julia' sound ridiculous? (Surname ends in Y). If it does, my Mum's name is Josephine. But I fear that 'Rosa Josephine' is a bit of a mouthful too.

If both of these are out - any suggestions?

(The other name we're considering is Elsa, but not sure that this makes a difference where the middle names are concerned?)

Thanks!

Oh I think Rosa is a beautiful name and Rosa Julia after your grandmother is also lovely.

UnrequitedSkink · 12/10/2009 21:47

Rosa Molly? (That's what I'm pondering for a girl anyway!)

randomimposter · 12/10/2009 21:51

depends what your surname is, but I think Rosa Josephine works ok.... Rosa Julia doesn't.

Rosa is a gorgeous name

Rosa Louise is BEAUTIFUL.
Or Rosa Juliet would keep a part of your Grandmother's name, if that's possible!

Lee the most obvious.

Rosa Charlotte
Rosa Beatrice
Rosa Hannah
Rosa Evie

Actually, I think Rosa Julia is fine ... just not that keen on Jula ........

Flowerface · 13/10/2009 14:08

Does Rosa Alice work, or is there too much 'a' action going on?

Rosa Josephine is easier to say than Rosa Alice. Rosa Julia also fine (looks Spanish on paper) but how about Rosa Juliet? Just call it a twist on Grandmother's name.

Rosa is beautiful but I think Rosa Juliet is better than Julia or Josephine for rolling nicely off the tongue -would still honour you grandmother in principle.

cloelia · 27/10/2009 19:53

My great grandmother was Rosa Mary which I think is beautiful; sadly I did not know it when I had my dd otherwise I would have used it.

pointyhat · 27/10/2009 19:59

Rosa Julia is lovely. I'd stick to the family link.

BabyDancer83 · 28/10/2009 15:47

diddl · 28/10/2009 16:17

Ooh!,loveElsa!
Juliet instead of Julia?

Flowerface · 28/10/2009 16:59

How about Helen? Turns out my great grandmother was called Helen...

Rosa is lovely. I would go for Julia. My DD has a first and middle name ending in the same sound for the same reason (a name we love plus a family name).

Rosa Helen also lovely.
