Like to be able to have a name we can shorten and have no idea what I'd shorten Arthur to but I think it's a cute name.

I have an Arthur, but even the shortened 'Art' didn't stick. He just gets called Arthur.
And I Wanted to call him Art in the first place!

I also have an Arthur. Really trying to avoid Artie, due to not wanting him called Artie farty! However, apparently Arthur means 'bear', which has stuck a bit as a nickname. Sometimes he's Arthur, sometimes he's Bear.

I have an Artemus who I'm hoping will be Art and NOT Artie.

My Arthur is just Arthur most of the time, although when we announced his birth we said he would be Artie. He's not and never has been.

We do sometimes call him Artu though, it just seems to suit him.

My friend's Arthur was Art, Artie and Arthur as a little boy. Now he's 16 and he is mostly called Arthur.

Clary · 20/10/2009 23:21

Arthur is a good name because nobody shortens it.

(IMO)

Lou that's funny, my DD's nickname is Bear (bestowed by DS1 in honour of TV show).

You're right, Arthur does mean Bear. Also Royal I believe?

Clary · 20/10/2009 23:21

Should add my DD is obviously not called Arthur
