I think we have narrowed it down to:

Lydia
Alice
Rosa
Astrid?

Any thoughts? Or anyone got any other ideas for these sorts of names? I was worried that Alice is quite popular these days... Think Lydia is the current favourite but I am still not 100% (DP likes Ancient Greek names)

Love them all...probably slightly less taken by Astrid but the first three are great and go together well, so if you accidently have girl triplets, you're sorted !

MedusaHead · 07/10/2009 14:23

I love Lydia. If I had another DD I would want her to be called Lydia - or Elsie.

Flowerface · 07/10/2009 14:24

Yes, Astrid was a wild card, hence the question mark... DP just said 'It isn't the worst name ever'. But to be honest his reaction to all names under the sun is either outright hostility or indifference so it isn't much help...

alice

I also love Elsa, but for DP this is too reminiscent of the lion in Born Free...

I have an Elsa and love it !! obviously nobody of her generation has any idea about Born Free, and for me there are worst things to be associated with than a lion...!

Also, unless we randomly meet, you'll not meet another one, which is nice.

Flowerface · 07/10/2009 14:36

Maybe I'll try gently suggesting Elsa again. I have never met one, and I wanted something that was unusual without being totally zany or ridiculously flowery.

(I know a rose is a flower, but you know what I mean...)

I like Alice best.

How about Elizabeth/Elisabeth with a nickname?

pointyhat · 07/10/2009 18:45

Rosa

Hulababy · 07/10/2009 18:46

From the list, in order: Alice, Lydia, Rosa, Astrid

They are all good names but Alice is my favourite.

MrsVik · 07/10/2009 19:03

Oooh, Alice was on our list too, I think it's beautiful. I also LOVE Rosa!

lilysam · 08/10/2009 07:11

Love Rosa and Lydia

I think Alice is quite boring in comparison

Not sure about Astrid....dont dislkie it but prefer the other 2

Flowerface · 08/10/2009 09:28

There are too many people in my family called Elizabeth, one of whose baby is due at exactly the same time as mine... Also, I have a friend called Beth who is actually more of a 'friend', if you get me...

Rosa is beautiful and I don't know of any.

lovemybabyboy · 10/10/2009 00:41

I love Lydia. Like Alice, Rosa and Astrid too, they are all really nice names. I also like Elsie...

simplesusan · 11/10/2009 00:01

Lydia is my dd's middle name. Rosa is my cat's name as chosen by my dd!

Lydia is my fave but love Alice too. Rosa is nice but is the Italian version of Rose I think (which I like better). Astrid I don't like, always makes me think of asteroids...
