What do you think of the name and how popular is it? Thanks.

Winkleman

MrsBadger · 01/10/2009 14:33

I know several my own age (ish) but no little ones

I like it

Tambajam · 01/10/2009 14:49

I know a 3yr old. She's lovely but I find the name a bit harsh-sounding. Always think of claws.

rubyslippers · 01/10/2009 14:54

this is no 1 on my girl's list

i really like it

flowerfairy · 01/10/2009 14:54

Someone in my class is called Claudia> I quite like it, but Dh always brings up the line from interview with a vampire-"Claudia you've been a very naughty girl."

Pinkjenny · 01/10/2009 14:55

The fact that it means 'lame' does put me off slightly, but I like it.

tummytickler · 01/10/2009 15:12

I know 1 of about 45, one of 11 and one of 8.
No little ones though - and i don't hear it being bellowed in the street at all either.

rachel234 · 01/10/2009 15:13

Nice name, but the meaning has alway put me off, unfortunately...

Sunshinemambo · 01/10/2009 15:13

I know one - think she's about 3. It's cute.

thedolly · 01/10/2009 15:15

I know 1, she is 8 - it's nice.

dizzydixies · 01/10/2009 15:29

I know several and think its a lovely name, shame about the meaning but I've heard worse!!

annasmami · 01/10/2009 15:30

I know several in their 30s but no little ones. Yes, the meaning would put me off, tbh.

Cortina · 01/10/2009 15:36

To Tambajam you could say 'Cloudier' rather than 'Clawdia' as per Claudia Schiffer?

What about the 'Cloudier' way of saying it? German?

I know a 1 year old Claudia. She's lovely

duchesse · 01/10/2009 15:40

I know a beautiful 14 yr old Claudia. Never met any others to my knowledge.

Tambajam · 01/10/2009 17:22

I prefer the 'Cloudier' version. It's like that in Spanish too.

gingerkirsty · 01/10/2009 17:27

I have a friend called Claudi pronounced Cloudy - really lovely and unusual - her Dad is German which is where the pronunciation comes from.

alarkaspree · 01/10/2009 17:30

I love it too. I wanted to use it for dd but dh thought it was 'too German'

squeaver · 01/10/2009 17:30

I know a 4 yo. Beautiful name.

MrsJohnDeere · 01/10/2009 17:41

Don't know any.

Lovely name.

oldspeckledtam · 01/10/2009 17:52

I teach quite a few. It's a popular polish name, though spelled Klaudia and pronounced Cloudier.

lilysam · 01/10/2009 17:59

Again love it but the meaning ruins it...such a shame

lynniep · 01/10/2009 18:01

just know the one baby

BitOfFun · 01/10/2009 18:02

I knew one at uni- she was very chic and interesting with a great sense of humour and a vespa scooter. Kinda cool.

Mermaidspam · 01/10/2009 18:21

Love the name. Always remember Claudia in "The babysitter's club" books
