Is it weird to have 3 children with 'A' being the first initial?

Have 2 A names already, DD and DS.

The only boy name I like is another A name.

At what stage does it become odd?

In my family, if the dad is called C... we use names that start with "C" for the children.
i think it is kind of cute and im actually doing the same. so nope, for me it is not odd

We have 2 dss with 'A' names but I am not sure that I would go for a third.
When dd2 came along my favourite name started with the same initial as dd1 but I decided that it would be too 'cute' to have two 'A's and two 'S's.

I will say that I am always surprised by the number of people who mix up ds1 and ds2's names because they are chalk and cheese and their names only start with the same letter.

Wouldnt worry me

I am one of 3, all with A names. The only problem we ever had was when post arrived addressed to A.XXXX!

ilovesprouts · 01/12/2009 19:00

one of my pals has 5 kids whith the j and one has 3 whith the c

TheBolter · 01/12/2009 19:10

I'm one of three, all with the same initial. It was kind of intentional with the third (my dsis) but more because it helped my parents to choose a name! As I grew up it didn't bother me at all. People often didn't seem to click straight away, and to be honest I never really think about it.

TamsinToo · 01/12/2009 19:21

I know of a family with six kids all starting with 'K'. It's a bit wierd becuase they have deliberately misspelt some of the names to do it!!!

nickytwotimes · 01/12/2009 19:24

I like different initials for each child personally, although it would negate the need for multiple name-tag changes.

LynetteScavo · 01/12/2009 19:26

I doesn't seem odd to me.

shoobidoo · 01/12/2009 19:47

No, it doesn't seem odd at all, assuming you love the names in their own right!

And the mail will sometimes get muddled up...

randomimposter · 01/12/2009 20:17

My parents used G for their first DCs...
Gregory, Geraldine and Georgina.... Mum wanted to repeat for me (number 4) EXACTLY cos of the name tag thing!!! ... was either going to be Gemma (sounds like a bleedin' detergent , said my dad) OR Gisela (after an ex girlfriend of my dad's - over my dead body, said my mum ) ....

I ended up as a J......

So actually I DON'T think it's odd at all!

carrielou2007 · 01/12/2009 21:09

My name begins with a 'c' and so does dd's, just coincidence as I love her name. We think a boy this time and I am thinking of names begining with an 'a' after exDP but thought it was a bit twee.

Friend had dd Misty (whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??) then a ds Sonny (love the name) and when expecting her third everyone used to whisper is she going to call it thundercloud?? People are just mean!!

mutter · 01/12/2009 22:48

My friend's daughters are Aishling, Anya and Aleyna.
I think it's rather nice.

HislittlePoppet · 02/12/2009 07:43

I went to school with a Jason, who had 4 younger brothers whose names all began with J too. I don't remember it being weird and people only really noticed when listing them.
