Perry...

... For a boy.

Love this name, thrown it into a couple of conversations and had some negative feedback. Also mentioned to DP 'Kevin and Perry' so he totally hates it! Grrrr

The name sometimes occurs as an abbreviation of Peregrine. A famous Perry : Perry Como who sang 'magic moments'...

Mainly seems to be a surname... Most suggestions have been that it's a name for a dog..

So - what do you think ?

First thought I'm afraid WAS Kevin and Perry.

It's also a drink

Not keen, sorry

piprabbit · 28/09/2009 12:39

Dr Perry Cox from Scrubs....

mopsyflopsy · 28/09/2009 12:47

I like Perry, think its cute on a boy but also suitable for an adult. I'd probably use Peregrine on the birth certificate.

I admit that I've never heard of Kevin and Perry or Perry Como .

Lizzylou · 28/09/2009 12:48

Miss Patterson

Sorry, too Kevin and Perry

Neon · 29/09/2009 10:02

Thanks for the messages!

I'm still not sure... Praying it's a girl as I'm really lost for a boys name!!!

Hi. If you scroll down in baby names, you'll see that I also asked opinions on this name!!I change daily, some days I like it other days I dont.
I think we have finally decided on Hugh or Hughie or maybe Tommy.....
Arrrgh

hellokitty123 · 29/09/2009 12:56

I really like Perry. I also like Hugh.

Thomas/Tom/Tommy on the other hand is a little dull/boring and it is also very popular - 2 in my d's class of 24.

KERALA1 · 29/09/2009 13:42

Perry is pear cider - don't use if you live in South west

Neon · 29/09/2009 14:22

Yum - pear cider! Or should that be cyder?

I love it more and more each day. SO frustrating!

peachespaige - did search for Perry threads before posting, but it was a while back. We liked Thom too! How strange. I also like Laurie...

My DS2 has Perry as his middle name.
I love it.

spiderlight · 04/10/2009 22:04

I used to know a Perry short for Peredur (Welsh form of Percival). My first thought was Kevin and Perry, though

Littlefish · 04/10/2009 22:07

I don't like it. Sorry. Sounds very wet.

janeite · 04/10/2009 22:10

I quite like it - but I used to have a rat called Peregrine! Would need to be Peregrine on birth certificate, I think.

kittywise · 04/10/2009 22:10

no, no Kevin and Perry, yuk

TigerDrivesAgain · 04/10/2009 22:12

Kevin and Perry Noooo

Peregrine Worsethorne = says it all

Perry is nicer than pear cider but is quite specialist really.

Perry Come - fab but oh so slightly (slightly??) dated

Much nicer names to go for

GoppingOtter · 04/10/2009 23:58

i LOVE it

would have to be Peregrine though

didn't Alan bennett write about one in some short play for one?

FimboFortunaFeet · 05/10/2009 00:00

Isn't it Billy from Eastenders real name?

Perry Como.

Quattrocento · 05/10/2009 00:07

I know a teenage Perry

Always makes me want to bark with laughter. But a good name if you want your DS to be a stand-up comedian, I suppose.
