Does Selina Grace or Selina Joy sound better?

dh and I are arguing. Not that's it's urgent or anything, I just like to have names on hand and am positive mine sounds better!

Selina Joy - Joy is on my list for a first name and Grae is over used as a mn, and Joy has such a beautiful sound/meaning.

Joy is lovely especially teamed with Selina. Joy was on my shortlist - adore it.

cece · 23/09/2009 14:00

I like the meaning of Joy better. But like them both as middle names with Selina

Luxmum · 23/09/2009 14:59

I'd go for Joy. I's on my list. Every baby seems to be called Grace now, though it is also a lovely name..

twinmum79 · 23/09/2009 15:01

Both gorge - each are a middle name for my dtd (and Joy is my middle name)

CommonNortherner · 23/09/2009 15:46

Joy was my choice, I will let dh know!

The only Joy I know doesn't live up to the name. It's a bit 1940s.

Grace is better but it is the new Sarah in schools now ( nothing wrong with Sarah) so can be a bit anonymous. ( Some children like that though )

MaggieBeauLeo · 23/09/2009 18:11

Joy! There is a lovely Joy in my son's creche and she is so lovely. It does suit a child, honestly.

MaggieBeauLeo · 23/09/2009 18:12

oh sorry, it's a middle name.

Definitely Joy.

dogonpoints · 23/09/2009 18:20

I like Selina Grace

lynniep · 23/09/2009 18:23

I love Joy. I'd have called forthcoming DC Joy had it a) been a girl and b) my DS wasnt called Joey!

LilianGish · 23/09/2009 18:29

Would avoid both these names in case qualities do not apply to child in question.

LilianGish · 23/09/2009 18:30

Sorry - just realised it's a middle name.

vess · 24/09/2009 04:54

My brand new dd2's middle name is Joy. Dh wanted Jane, I wanted Juniper, so we settled for Joy. If she doesn't suit it, she can only use it as an initial - it's only a middle name, after all!

nooka · 24/09/2009 05:34

I think that Selina Grace works better, but it also depends on your surname.

CommonNortherner · 24/09/2009 07:06

I take it Joy is getting all trendy then

LilianGish: Oh I think it could work anyway... I do like Joy in Drop the Dead Donkey and she's anything but joyful
