I'm not pregnant, just pondering!
And I know,I know, Hannah Montana, but I genuinely think it's a pretty name!

Nope, horrible.

rubyslippers · 23/09/2009 09:39

no - it will forever have that association

Milly is lovely IMO

UnquietDad · 23/09/2009 09:42

Miley Cyrus's birth name is Destiny. I think Miley is an improvement.

ButtercupWafflehead · 23/09/2009 09:45

I know a Maeli, which evades the HM association somewhat...?

bruffin · 23/09/2009 10:12

Miley (as HM) evolved from her nickname of Smiley.

ludog · 23/09/2009 10:12

Miley will always be a farmer in a shabby sweater to me I'm afraid! (From a farming soap in Ireland in the 80s). I couldn't inflict it on any child of mine.

BunnyLebowski · 23/09/2009 10:24

YES Ludog - Miley from Glenroe!!!

My mum's dog was called Miley so not good for me.

But apart from that imo it's a tacky, child star/porn star, Falcon's Crest name i.e. not good for a baby.

And I would never lumber any child with a name that would forever be associated with that prostitot Miley Cyrus.

duchesse · 23/09/2009 10:27

Erm, no.

YummyorSlummy · 23/09/2009 10:36

Lol....so an all round no then- my dh will be relieved!

It's quite nice but I prefer Myla.

Stannie · 23/09/2009 11:30

Ludog - I was thinking Miley from Glenroe too! A fair few ancient farmers around us called Miley/Milo too..

And of course there is Hannah Feckin Montana should I manage to get past the droopy-jumpered farmer connotations.. not for me I'm afraid..

stleger · 23/09/2009 11:35

Aw holy God, Miley from Glenroe was lovely.

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/09/2009 11:44

Don't be silly. What a daft name.

Sorry, you did ask.

LouMacca · 23/09/2009 12:01

No, don't do it!

nappyaddict · 23/09/2009 12:19

Myla or Myleen not Miley.

MamaLazarou · 23/09/2009 18:35

MILEY?

For the love of God and all that is good and righteous.

daisy71 · 23/09/2009 18:49

chavvy

GirlsAreLOud · 23/09/2009 18:56

OMG Glenroe! Is Blackie still in it does anyone know?

browntrout · 23/09/2009 19:07

how about Sharpay? Always makes me think of those wrinkly dogs (much nicer than high school musical association anyway)

Pingpong · 23/09/2009 19:22

Back to the drawing board yummyorslummy

ludog · 24/09/2009 13:53

GirlsAreLoud Glenroe went to it's eternal reward years ago! Biddy died and Miley was left bereft, I don't know what happened Blackie.

Cakesandale · 24/09/2009 14:02

I thought Miley - spelled as in 'Maille' rather than as in 'Cyrus' - was a good old-fashioned Irish name, Gaelic for Molly??

Not that this makes it any better. But just sayin'.....

Hulababy · 24/09/2009 14:12

I couldn't do it. My 7y DD would think it was a really cool name, but not so sure I would want everyne thinking we were Hannah fans for the next few years!

IsadoraDunking · 24/09/2009 14:21

What is the etymology?

Miley from Glenroe vv craggy and breath smelling of his bottle of cold tea (one imagines) but Milo a nice name. For a chap though not a wee girl.
