H has gone off our name!

I'd really like some suggestions please if anyone is about. Our daughter is due in 3w and my H has gone off our chosen name - Elin Rose.

Almost everything else I suggest he turns his nose up at! We both quite like Cora or Coralie, although we aren't 100% sure. We'd like something unusual but ideally phonetic. We like Grainne (and our son has a celtic name) but can't get over the spelling issue. We both initially liked Florence but 'Florence and the machine' has put him off that one too. Surname is Jones.

I realise these are very wide parameters, but I'd really appreciate some ideas please!

What about Eilidh? Its phonetic in scotland.

Erin is v common. Elin isn't.

Can't you hit your husband until he agrees?

Cora Jones is a bit like Norah Jones.

I have a lovely friend called Elin, so I associate it with niceness!

Clodagh is quite phonetic, and easier than Grainne.

Or Roisin, could be Rosie for short.

Elena Rosemary is like Elin Rose, but more versatile giving you more to work with: could be Ellie, Elen, Ella, Lena, Rosie, Romy

Muiranne is pronounced more like Mwi-rinn where I am, love it but hard to spell in the UK!
I like Coralie Jones, really flows well....

Emer is lovely
If you really like Grainne, call her that with nn Grace/Gracie, as it's the irish equivalent

My father went off from one name to another one for weeks after my younger sister was born, as a result she spend her early weeks refered to as "babe", a nickname that stayed with her through her school years and many of my friends still call her that now that she is near her forties.

So my suggestion is for your husband to take the lesser of two evils and keep to the chosen names

Sulk and cry until he changes his mind back. This is what I have done to my equally annoying hubbie, coupled with plenty of moaning about heartburn/lack of sleep/pain. You are doing the time-you get first dibs on the name, especially as like my annoying hubbie they agreed on it initially. He can't hate it that much. My daughter also due in 3 weeks.

Meriel Rose ? Or Meredith Rose ?

Wait until she is born, say ouch a lot, then tell him what the name will be. Your the one that does the hard work and its not as if he doesnt like it!

LOL at the suggestions to hit my husband or wait until labour, I have had a lot of those. The trouble is that he's as stubborn as, well, I am really, and I know I'd be on a hiding to nothing except a nameless child for a few weeks whilst neither of us back down.

I love Meredith, that's beautiful, and thanks for the thumbs up for Coralie.

We can't use Erin, Emer or Grace for family reasons unfortunately as I like both.

I love the Irish suggestions, esp Muiranne.
