Hi, any thoughts on Rosanna? This is our 5th child and we are finding it difficult to come up with a name. Also one of our daughters have Rose as a middle name, do you think that matters? Thanks in advance for any replies. X

I think Rosanna is a lovely name, don't think it matters at all about your other child's middle name - most people she meets won't know and they're not exactly the same so hopefully your other child won't mind her name being used .

southeastastra · 17/09/2009 22:19

reminds me of the song, it's a good song, ugly lookin band tho

macherie · 17/09/2009 22:21

I'm not crazy about it, but I love Rosa. If I ever have another dd Rosa would be on my list.

lumnag · 17/09/2009 22:28

Absolutely love Rosanna.
I had not even considered Rosanna until my DD was born. She had beautiful red hair and looked like a little rosebud so the name just leaped out at me. Great name.
Don't think the middle name of one of your other daughters matters at all.

Congratulations, 5 children, what an achievement.

moondog · 17/09/2009 22:29

Great name.

emmared1980 · 17/09/2009 22:48

Brilliant thanks for all the replies. This is the only one that we both quite like. Glad nobody thought it was a problem having Rose as a middle name for my other daughter, wasn't sure. Now can anyone give me any middle name suggestions to go with it please!!!
Thanks for the congratulations makes a change from people asking ''was it planned'' or ''you need to get a TV''....at least once a day I'm asked that!

Rosanna is lovely; for a middle name I would go for something short and simple like Jane, Claire, Fay, Grace, Hope, or Joy.

MamaLazarou · 18/09/2009 22:24

It's lovely.

Ceolas · 18/09/2009 22:27

Lovely name.

We've just had our 5th and found it difficult too. Good luck

BitOfFundango · 18/09/2009 22:29

A beautiful name, love it!

epithet · 18/09/2009 22:30

Love it & I know a gorgeous little Rosanna.

MmeLindt · 18/09/2009 22:32

Congratulations on your 5th, lucky you. Do you have 4 girls?

I love Rosanna, it does make me think of the song but in a nice way as it one of my DH's favourite songs.

cece · 18/09/2009 22:34

My gran was Rosina

MaggieBeauLeo · 19/09/2009 11:25

I prefere Rosemary. Rosanna is a bit too sweet and sicky.

Rosemary sounds more intelligent. Romy and Rosie for short are nice.

I can't bear that dreadful Rosanna Davidson de burgh, the middle-class girl who dresses like a chav.

lena522 · 19/09/2009 14:51

Love love love the name Rosanna I agree a short, cimple middle name would go nicely with it.

lena522 · 19/09/2009 14:52

whoops, simple
not sure how that happened, my spelling isn't that bad I swear

pranma · 19/09/2009 17:57

Rosanna Mary
Rosanna Joy

MegSophandEmma · 19/09/2009 18:03

Rosanna Leigh

I love the name btw. Tis beautiful.

Remotew · 19/09/2009 18:09

Love it.

emmared1980 · 19/09/2009 21:11

Thanks, I think this is going to be ''the one''. Just the middle name to sort out now!
I've got 2 boys and 2 girls (B,G,G,B) and love all of their names so don't just want to settle on one that's ''ok'' for the 5th.

emmared1980 Once again many congratulations on your 5th child. Truly fantastic achievement.
Rosanna is a gorgeous name and ticks all the right boxes: i.e. not popular, nor made up and silly.
Just a beautiful name.
There won't be 3 more in her class at school Some middle names you may like include.
Madeleine
Clemency
Xanthe
Theodora
Anastasia
Antonia
Frances
Gaia
Good Luck and best wishes

skydancer1 · 20/09/2009 03:14

Love the name.

Mae for middle name?

SamMitchell · 20/09/2009 11:53

Love it. Was second choice for our DD.

LauraJA · 21/09/2009 12:43

Beautiful name - gave it to my oldest daughter. She's a Rosanna Madeleine (the middle name is after my Grandmother) - it may be a bit long but I think it's a nice combination. It was more common in Victorian times apparently. Her name is occasionally shortened to Rosie but I think it's a name that suits any age. Only snag is it's frequently misspelt!

Good luck whatever you decide
