its nice for a nice looking kid

however if you have an ugly kid its a god ugly name

daisyj · 15/09/2009 21:06

Very nice. I work with a very attractive and stylish Martha, so good associations with the name, too.

Hulababy · 15/09/2009 21:07

I really like it and it is currently top of my list (with Matilda and Florence) for any future DD I might have.

It is gaining popularity int he baby names sakes although I don't actual know any personally, there are currently none in the infant school (of 270 pupils) I work in and just one in DD's school.

PinkyMinxy · 15/09/2009 21:08

It is one of my DD's middle names and we love it. We didn't use it as a first name because there a a few in the neighbourhood already, so it is probably becomming a popular name.

MrsJohnDeere · 15/09/2009 21:11

Like a lot. Don't know any or even know of any in rl.

plonker · 15/09/2009 21:37

I'm in a minority here because I really don't like the name Martha.

I can't explain why I don't like it ...I just don't.

Lilyloo · 15/09/2009 21:48

[grin Pannacotta 'gutsy and spirited' mine most definately is

Lilyloo · 15/09/2009 21:50

Am so pleased so many people like it too , my Martha is nearly two and it was dp name choice i wasn't sure but she couldn't be anything else...

weepootle · 15/09/2009 21:53

I love it. Was first on my list for dd2 but dh hated it so we went with no.2 (on Hulababy's list). I still prefer Martha though.

ReneRusso · 15/09/2009 22:00

I like it. Not common imo, because I don't know any Marthas.

dollius · 15/09/2009 22:01
