What do you think of James or Lucian/Lucien (loo-see-an as opposed to looshun)?

Have a one-syllable surname starting with H

Thanks

Like both.

Lucian James?

See DH is worried Lucian is a bit too camp for his son but I think Lucian James sounds better than James Lucian?

I love Lucian (as you pronounce it)!

Lucian James is much nicer than the other way round.

hellokitty22 · 08/09/2009 09:22

Lucian is cool!

James is ok, but a little unimaginative.

noddyholder · 08/09/2009 09:29

I like both too Lucian James sounds best. Not camp at all v stylish and individual without being poncey

sockmonster · 08/09/2009 09:32

Thanks for comments. DH says 'he won't thank you for it'

I just think James isn't really that unique, I don't dislike it but I have a few in my family already and also although it's classic it's a bit forgettable...

but if anyone thinks James is better please let me know or if anyone hates Lucian also feel free to slate it

I love Lucian/ Lucien. I don't think it is camp at all. James is okay but quite dull (imo) and I really dislike Jamie.

weaselbudge · 08/09/2009 10:55

I am biased because i love the name James. I do have to tentatively agree that Lucian sounds a bit camp. But Lucian James does sound better than James Lucian.

printguru · 08/09/2009 15:39

Well it didn't do Freud any harm did it. Lucian is a very good name

browntrout · 08/09/2009 15:48

Love Lucian. Was my choice for DD2 if had been a boy although my partner never liked it I have to say.
