Looking for an English middle name for our daughter

Hello! I'm half-French, half-English (living in France) and my husband is Berber, so our daughter is going to have three names (French - Berber - English).
The French name will be Olivia (it is rare in France), the Berber name Lehna (meaning "peace"), but we can't settle on an English name.
It must :

  • be immediately identifiable as English
  • not start with an E or P (the initials would sound silly in French)
  • not start with the sound [a]

ex :
Olivia Lehna Cecily (but husband doesn't like it)
Olivia Lehna Juliet

any other ideas please? I'm due in 6 weeks!

Oh and isn't Madam Bovary Emma???

It is because a lot of the 'English' names are Germanic and spread widely threw Europe, as are the Romance and Biblical names. Emma was married to Canute Queen of England, but it wasnt the England we know. Agatha and Edith were also Anglo-Saxon, and therefore Germanic.

A vote for Jane here.

Olivia Lehna Rosalind

Funny. I thought of Rose first too.

Don't use anything that ends in 'a' - she already has two, and if you add a third she will sound like like a Latin Declension.
Or would that be Olivia, Olivias, Oliviat...

I'd go for Victoria or Elizabeth - Queens of England and therefore instantly (?) creates association???

If you try to look up "Old English" girls names, I suspect you'd come across a lot which are Germanic, Latin or French anyway.

Or go for something Shakespearean - Ophelia. Miranda, Hermia, Juliet, Desdemona - maybe not "classic English", but you can't get more English than Mr S.
