Tinker-Belle???

TheMysticMasseuse · 31/08/2009 19:54

Usually I am firmly in the "if you like it go for it" but I would have to draw the line at Tinker-Belle!!

beanieb · 31/08/2009 19:55

I like them all apart from Viola, Tinker-belle (why the hyphen?), Leslie and Ernie. Not keen on the spelling of the Daisey in Daisey-may and I am more familiar with Iona than Ione.

bluebump · 31/08/2009 19:56

I like Ione.

southernbelle77 · 31/08/2009 19:56

Not a double barrelled person myself so don't like Daisey-May and certainly no to Tinker-Belle!! The other are all ok, but think Ione is the best.

Boys not over liking especially Leslie and not really keen on Erik. Ernie is the best one for me.

Rindercella · 31/08/2009 19:57

Ditch Tinker-Belle and Daisey-May straight off.

Quite like Nancy and Viola. Daisy by itself is sweet. Otherwise none of your girls' names particularly grab me. Sorry, your boys' names don't either. Imagine though, if you had twin boys, you could call them Erik and Ernie

differentID · 31/08/2009 19:58

Are you taking the piss with at least one of those? Seriously

MamaLazarou · 31/08/2009 20:10

'Daisey-May'?

DAISEY?

People will just assume you are incredibly thick.

Nancy's nice, though.

jkklpu · 31/08/2009 20:20

Nancy's great
Viola OK
don't like any of the others and Tinker-Belle must be a wind-up

slowreadingprogress · 31/08/2009 20:37

How can the person who considers using Isolde for their daughter also consider Tinker-Belle? It's a wind up.

Nancy and Viola are the only sensible options. Erik & Ernie? Bring me sunshine, etc.

myredcardigan · 31/08/2009 20:42

Nancy is nice but I'd call her Agnes and shorten.

MaggieLeo · 31/08/2009 20:44

Nancy - lovely! sparky, classic, nancy Astor.
Isolde - like it. bit pretentious mind you.
Ione - not sure. I love IOna and Skye though
Daisey-May - what? I thought you were a classy person and now you give me this hyphenated name with May on the end? Daisy is nice. Lose the May.
Viola - ok prefer Vivien
Violetta - ok.
Tinker-Belle - Janey Mackers no. What about Annabelle with Nancy for short??

Erik - em. No.
Leslie - em. No.
Ernie - I hate this less.

What about Victor or Howie or Donald or Bruce? They are all a bit dated and borderline cool.

janeite · 31/08/2009 20:48

Nancy - nope
Isolde - I like this, tis unusual but pretty
Ione - nope
Daisey-May - love Daisy but not the hyphen May and deffo not with a letter 'E'
Viola - okay
Violetta - nope but love Violet
Tinker-Belle - really, no

Erik - awful
Leslie - okay
Ernie - worse than Erik

MissGreatBritain · 31/08/2009 20:48

Nancy - a bit silly
Isolde - a bit pretentious
Ione - no one will know how to pronounce, or spell it
Daisey-May - lives on trailer park
Viola - just no
Violetta - best of the lot
Tinker-Belle -for your cat, yes

Erik not bad, prefer Eric
Leslie old-fashioned and dull
Ernie - again, for your cat.

You did say be honest!

Thunderduck · 31/08/2009 21:14

No
No
No
No
It's ok
No
You are kidding right?

I like Erik spelled that way.
Leslie is ok.
Most definitely not Ernie.

TwoPersephone · 01/09/2009 09:02

I only like Isolde

Tommy · 01/09/2009 09:07

Brutally honestly, I don't like any of your girl's names, sorry.

How about Violet or May / Mae - similar but much prettier IMO.

Erik is nice though, although I'd spell it Eric.

pasturesnew · 01/09/2009 09:21

Nancy - nice
Isolde - really lovely
Ione - I would always mispell and mishear this as Iona
Daisey-May - if you really HAVE to please spell it Daisy May, then it is OK, otherwise not, sorry.
Viola - nice
Violetta - sounds silly somehow
Tinker-Belle - absolutely ridiculous, I'm afraid

Erik - really like this, but prefer the spelling Eric
Leslie - not great but acceptable
Ernie - actually I quite like this (assuming it would be short for Ernest)

seeker · 01/09/2009 09:22

You are joking, I presume?

ludog · 01/09/2009 13:26

Nancy..... ok(ish)
Isolde......nice, but prefer Iseult
Ione........ok
Daisey-May..YUK
Viola........nice
Violetta....don't like,sorry
Tinker-Belle....oh dear!

Erik......best of the bunch
Leslie...no
Ernie....no

Fimbo · 01/09/2009 14:08

This is a wind-up right?

Whilst on holiday, I met siblings called Claire and Brian. She was 4yrs old and he was 3. That is the way to go methinks..
