What do you think of Ernest?
We really like it but i am not sure it goes with our other boys names (Eli and Amos) although it does fot with our dd's.
Also worry it might get mega popular along with Albert, Archie, Ned etc.
Would love some opinions please!

i don't particularly like it (or dislike it) - i doubt it will get popular to be honest. I think it does go with your other two names.

I think it's sweet and it goes with the other names but for goodness sake don't shorten it to Ernie, whatever you do.

I love it. DS was going to be Ernest Rex, but it didn't quite suit him when he was born. He's Arthur.

What's wrong with a shortening to Ernie?? Not great for me as I'm in the south west and it doesn't sound lovely in a Somerset accent, but I think it's a sweet name.

Plus 'The Importance of Being Earnest' is my favourite Oscar Wilde work!

My friend has a ds called Ernest - was quite surprised when she told us her choice I must admit! I quite like Ernest tbh but hate Ernie though - reminds me of Sesame Street!

This was my grandfather's name. I must say I don't see what's awful about it! If names like Albert and Archie can be 'in' then why not Ernest?

I think it fits in with those kind of names, so can see it getting slightly more used but prob not mega popular, i think its quite nice

It's my ds's middle name, after his grandfather. Nearly was first name! It's hugely unfashionable, but maybe that's a good thing!
