Elizabeth Grace - too popular?

Was thinking of this name for dd but not sure if its a very popular combination.

Elizabeth is after my Nana who died recently but I'm a little lost for 2nd names. In the past I've given my children middle names after family members but this time if we name her after my nana it feels like she should have her "own" middle name (iykwim!)

Any ideas?

I don't think it matters whether it is popular or not, it's your choice that counts.

How about Eliza, Beth or Libby instead?

Elizabeth is a really lovely name with fantastic NN potential.

I think Grace goes nicely but it is very popular as a middle name (prob cos it sounds so nice!!)

Unless you are planning on using both names, then I would just go with a name you love as a middle name.

It's a beautiful name. No idea whether it's popular or not, don't think I've heard that combination before. Personally I love Grace, and quite like Elizabeth, and together they sound lovely.

Elizabeth not at all overpopular and much underused as a first name atm, imo.

grace is a hugely popular middle name at the moment, but if you like it, who cares!

boodleboot would probably want to use Matilda or Phillipa (Pippa) if wasn't using ELizabeth but neither of those options seem to go...

I have a very popular 1st/2nd name combo so would rather stay away from that if poss.

I dont think Elizabeth is that popular at all - i only know 1 with the full name.
I know lots of kids given the short forms as a full name though (loads of Libbys, 2 Bettys, a Bess, a Betsy), but only one Elizabeth.
Grace is a bit dull imo, but if you love it then use it - it is a mn anyway so rarely used.

I would probably say Elizabeth was popular about 20-25 yrs ago my SIL is called Elizabeth Grace (26) but these names certainly come back into fashion. I think it is great go for it

My dd middle name is Grace.

Apparently Elizabeth is #9 in the US so thought it was more popular elsewhere....

My DD1 is Grace Elisabeth and I love it, it is classic (yes, I know Grace is popular but is wasn't quite so over 7 years ago) and it is a name which will grow with her.

I say go for it but have you considered spelling Elizabeth Elisabeth? I think it looks and sounds softer.

I think Elizabeth is one of the absolute best names for girls - beautiful. Grace is horrendously popular but I think you can get away with it because Elizabeth is more unusual now.

Elizabeth Faith is too much of a tongue twister for me - too many 'th's'!!!

Grace is pretty, but very popular indeed! Personally I wouldn't use it, unless it ha a family connection - or just was 'the' name IYKWIM.

lowrib There is an Irish connection, my Dad is Irish and my sister now lives there with her family. Baby is due at New Year. I'm trying to think about the favourite favourite authors / plays / films / bands....since the birth of DS and DD1, I don't seem to have had time to indulge in anything like that but I know I had a life once right....!!

Incidentally, according to the same site, there is a Irish naming tradition as follows

Oldest daughter named after the Mother's mother
2nd daughter named after the Father's mother
3rd daughter named after the Mother
4th daughter named after the Mother's oldest sister

Just thought I'd throw that in in case it helps - as you're already using a family name it's probably not relavant, but I thought it was interesting anyway.

If my father's family had followed that I think I'd have 3 Aunties Mary (I just have the one so they must have rebelled!)
