Maple Rose for a girl. Madness?

I'm not pregnant or anything but I just adore this name if I had another girl one day but something says it's in the same vein as Apple. Thoughts?

I'd either think it was chavvy (made up name) or incredibly posh. I guess that's not much help.

Don't really like it though. Tisn't really a name, is it?

I don't understand this 'made up name' thing. Is there an official book of names that you're allowed to pick from? Why is Rowan or Holly a name but Maple isn't?

Maple Rose sounds like a paint colour - beige with a hint of blush.

Don't do it.

Sounds like the veneer on an Ikea wardrobe.

Daft as a brush.

No. Wood and syrup. And that's all.

I've been looking at kitchens today... did you get the idea from a moben catalogue?

Sorry... that wasn't nice, I just think the two names don't go together. I do think Mabel Rose is lovely though....

Well I think Maple is nice. But then, reading the comments, I thought Leaf was nice too...

I immediately thought of syrup.
I would be thinking "ooh is your brother called peanut butter or jam?" if a met a Maple.
Sorry!

Some funny comments, made me smile. I still like Maple - I met a young chinese woman recently who chose it as her English name and she was a lovely woman.
But no can't blame pg hormones (but I wouldn;t anyway, I still have a brain). And I don't care if people think I've mispelt Mabel (makes me think of Playschool), it's just whether Maple is too wierd for a future DD.
We'll just have to see - mabe if No2 will be a boy and I could call him Oak or Ash

I knew some Australian siblings who were all named after indigenous trees, there was a Jarrah, a Cyathea, a Mallee and a few others.
