Phoenix for a girl??

DH suggested Phoenix for our DD, but I've only ever heard of boys with that name. Any thoughts? Or do you know girls called Phoenix? What do you think it would be shortened to? Fifi?

and don't call any child Jack for fear of the blighter being called Jack the bum crack

Have to say, I think Phoebe sounds very weak and woofty. Phoenix is strong and bold, to my mind. I think it's the x. But then, I don't like Beatrix one little bit, so who knows.
