I like the name Poppy, but am interested to know whether there are any parents out there with a teenage Poppy and how they feel about their name? I have an Oliver....and think Poppy goes well but am worried about how the name will grow with our DD.

my granddaughter was born 3 days ago and shes called poppy,i think they seem to grow into their names its a very feminine name.

It's a pretty name for a baby/child, but IMO too childish for an adult. Sorry, no personal experience, but just my opinion

Congratulations on the birth of your grandaughter, logi.

I know one (17) with it as her middle name. She loves it as she has a boring first name (Claire)

I know a grown up Poppy. She is very beautiful and smart, and it doesnt seem at all childish on her, it has grown beautifully. The name really suits her, i think. And she loves her name.

Too cutesy for me - it lacks elegance imo.

Hehehe me too!

bargainhuntingbetty · 15/08/2009 18:43

I think it is a lovely name and I dont see why it shouldnt grow with a child. It is better than a lot of the names out there just now that you would be too embarrased to tell a prospecive employer at an interview. Im not giving examples as I might upset people

skihorse · 16/08/2009 08:33

I have a Jackapoo called Poppy. She's enthusiastic, elegant, glossy haired and damp nosed.

Gateau · 26/08/2009 12:41

It's what I call a silly, pink and fluffy name.

lucylev · 28/08/2009 13:27

love it, so pretty!
