This could be a problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=CsqnG-w3zIk

Note who sang it...

Shitemum · 10/08/2009 00:44

Well, it means dove in Spanish but also pigeon. There's the reference of Picasso's daughter but it reminds me more of the spotty faced pebbleglasses wearing whore who lived down the street from us...sorry

blinks · 10/08/2009 01:09

the jimmy saville + bird footage + jonathan king combination is jarring.

sockmonster · 10/08/2009 05:03

pigeon

MamaLazarou · 10/08/2009 09:17

It's really beautiful.

blinks · 10/08/2009 09:22

Pigeons = rats with wings .

She would always be listening to renditions of "una paloma blanca".

notsoteenagemum · 10/08/2009 09:48

No, it is a horses name. Apologies.

nancy75 · 10/08/2009 09:53

isnt the horse a palamino?

MamaKaty · 10/08/2009 09:57

Sorry, I don't like it at all - and wouldn't it end up being shorted to 'Pal'(like the dogfood!)

MaggieBelleVirgo · 10/08/2009 10:03

I really love it.

MamaLazarou · 10/08/2009 10:54

The more I think of it, the more I like it. DH likes it, too. I think I'm going to steal it!

notsoteenagemum · 10/08/2009 11:36

Yes, there is a breed of Horse called Palamino, but have still known a few named Paloma.

blinks · 10/08/2009 11:43

tis all yours MmeLazarou.

i'm all done- just liked it.

OP posts:
blinks · 10/08/2009 11:49

i was thinking it could be shortened to 'Loma'.

i doubt any of her contemporaries would have heard of some shitty 70s record.

OP posts:
WelliesAndPyjamas · 10/08/2009 11:50

pretty

GrendelsMum · 10/08/2009 11:56

I think that's lovely.

But Loma sounds like 'lomo', and then I'm thinking slices of ham.

MamaLazarou · 10/08/2009 12:15

Thank you, blinks.

'Loma' would be a lovely nickname.

goomum · 10/08/2009 15:25

reminds me of a tumorous growth. Sorry.

MorrisZapp · 10/08/2009 17:06

sorry, makes me think of papilloma

blinks · 10/08/2009 18:09

don't be sorry. it's for my ficticious 3rd child.

OP posts:
SixtyFootDoll · 10/08/2009 18:10

Its beautiful

screamingabdab · 10/08/2009 18:24

Lovely name . I think it means dove, which ain't half bad for a name

I do remember doing a Drum Majorette routine to it in a competition though , around 1977.... (don't let that put you off, we were very good )
