I think this is beautiful. A litle girl I Aupaired for in Italy was called Ilaria. I love it. BUT it translates to Hilary. Would people make the link? (not that theres anything wrong with the name Hilary but I prefer Ilaria)Trying to talk sister into using it!

Sorry, the first word that popped into my head when I read Ilaria was 'hilarious'.
The name must work in Italy, but sadly not her. Not for me anyway.

I know an Ilaria and I don't think people make the link to Hilary at all.
I think it is very pretty.

I know a lovely Ilaria. She was half Itslian but raised here. I always assumed it was Italian form of Lara so never made the Hilary connection.

I think the Itallian pronunciation can roll the "r" ao it sounds better.

i like it, but then i speak italian. i don't make any connection wiht hilary.
