I am NOT taking the mick - i have a friend with a DD called Hazel, and she is planning on calling the next DD due in Dec, Willow - I think it's cute

alardi · 05/08/2009 09:25

Tess, Fern, Martha (real life examples).
I'm minded towards other classic English names, like Rachel, Rosemary, Lilian, Gillian.

Poopscooper · 05/08/2009 09:25

Anyone else?

purely on the basis that i seem to be in the minority loving hazel how about rita? another name just about due for a revival imho. personally i wouldn't go for a "themed" set of names.

pasturesnew · 05/08/2009 09:33

I knew a family with themed names and thought it was pretty, so will suggest "Holly" and "Ivy" if due this winter?

I have always loved the name Hazel and have met a really impressive and beautiful scientist with this name.

Are you sticking with a theme? Rowan?

KleineMaus · 05/08/2009 11:10

Rowan is good. I know sisters called Rowan and Laurel, which I think is lovely.

mssally · 05/08/2009 13:26

Hazel is one of my favourite names. I also like Lizzie (but that might be too much z with Hazel) Ruth, Annie and Hannah

GrendelsMum · 05/08/2009 13:36

Got to be Rowan. Or perhaps Cherry or Laurel?

My niece is Hazel, though, and her younger sister is Heather.

GreatGooglyMoogly · 05/08/2009 13:38

A friend of mine has a Hazel and an Ava.

Poopscooper · 05/08/2009 13:47

Thanks everyone. Ava and Ruth are nice, I like. Not so keen on having a theme though.

Love Willow and Martha - both would go well with Hazel.

Also love Maggie and Lilian from nappyaddicts although I have to point out that Oisín is not a girls name and shouldn't be on the list.

Kitty is nice too and would go great with Hazel but I fear it's becoming far too popular now and will be the next Lily/Ava/Amelia.
