Looks a little indecisive, like they couldn't choose between Alexandra and Electra.

Claire2009 · 03/08/2009 00:05

Yes, quite odd..

AitchTwoOh · 03/08/2009 00:05

bad.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 03/08/2009 00:06

Did they have Carmen as a middle/first name?

scottishmummy · 03/08/2009 00:08

i think you should say congratulations and smile

and hope to hell she doesn't do MN and see you bitching about her name

AitchTwoOh · 03/08/2009 00:09

friend of a friend, sm. claire doesn't know her, presumably.

scottishmummy · 03/08/2009 00:12

however given it is unusual it is potentially indiscreet to garner opinion upon

AitchTwoOh · 03/08/2009 00:15

it is a pretty rubbish name, maybe it'd be no bad thing for them to see a straw poll... there's still time to change it.

scottishmummy · 03/08/2009 00:19

that is thing about names.Princess Tiaamii sounds unique to some.gauche to others

my point is,name in question is unusual and well it is a done deed no point ripping the arse out of it now

AitchTwoOh · 03/08/2009 00:21

it sounds unique to everyone, because it is unique. whether you think that is gauche or not is a different matter.

not a done deal, plenty of people change their minds about baby names.

scottishmummy · 03/08/2009 00:23

no don't misinterpret what i say atich. i made example of a name (not the name in question) which the famous parents obviously like.others don't

i have not actually stated an opinion on name in question

AitchTwoOh · 03/08/2009 00:46

i'm not. would you prefer i'd said 'whether one thinks it is gauche'?

blinks · 03/08/2009 01:29

sounds like a car

nappyaddict · 03/08/2009 02:37

I think it is a nice name but prefer the spelling Electra.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 03/08/2009 03:02

Obv not a classical scholar or interested in Psychoanalysis. Electra complex is the female form of Oedipus complex ie in love with father and wants to kill mother . . .

See here.

Or is it nothing to do with that and in fact her dad is called Alec??

MamaLazarou · 03/08/2009 10:07

It's not the worst name I have ever heard.

maggievirgo · 03/08/2009 11:02

it sounds like some new energy company to me. Switch over to Alectra and get £100 off your first bill.

I like Allegra though. Electra has a bit too much baggage.

HollyBunda · 03/08/2009 11:08

love Elektra, but not with the A.

courtneylovescox · 03/08/2009 11:12

sounds like an electrical component
