Very pretty

cthea · 31/07/2009 11:30

Is it from Arian, would have to be blonde? Mind you, I think many name origins are lost now and it doesn't matter if your Russell isn't a red-head etc. It is a lovely sounding name. Quite fairy-like.

bigstripeytiger · 31/07/2009 11:32

Very nice. I know a girl called Ariana.

Lovesdogsandcats · 31/07/2009 11:48

Also Arianne

BlueChampagne · 31/07/2009 13:02

Lovely - we know an Ariane.

willowstar · 31/07/2009 13:54

if my mum had her way I would have been called Oriana, which I guess is pretty much the same. Always used to wish I had been called that when I was growing up as it is much nicer than my actual name. Love it.

loobylu3 · 31/07/2009 17:11

V pretty name. I also love Ariadne which is the original form of the name and Oriana too1

maggievirgo · 31/07/2009 17:16

Prefer Arianne. Less is more sometimes, and this is one of those times.

dizzydixies · 31/07/2009 20:53

my DD4 is going to be Arianna

now I just have to get DH to agree to having DD4 and we're off

Xavielli · 01/08/2009 15:31

I would have loved it, I think, had I never read Harry Potter. Now I just think Dumbledore. Sorry!

TwoHot · 01/08/2009 17:09

Sounds like a cruise ship. A very nice one tho!

MrsMattie · 01/08/2009 20:30

I like it. Would you say 'Ar-ee-anna- or 'Ar-ee-ah-na'?

bevlin · 01/08/2009 20:38

I love it and am jealous you can have it! We have friends with a daughter called Ariana and it's just such a beautiful name and not too over used but at the same time, not one of those chavy made up names either.
Everyone who hears her name loves it too.

serinBrightside · 02/08/2009 21:04

Gorgeous.

MamaLazarou · 04/08/2009 14:52

It is lovely, unless you are French. Sorry if anyone reading this is French and called Arianna, but I think it gets all swallowed up in the accent.

pedalmonster · 06/08/2009 18:42

I think it is lovely but wasnt there a space shuttle called ariana that crashed a few yrs ago?
