Those not currently very popular but there'll be loads in a few years?

Jean definately.

Violet already getting very popular.

Julia - can see this taking off again.

Plus Georgina.

tummytickler · 02/08/2009 21:15

Oh no - i love jean! I thought she would be quite individual with that name! .
Agree with Julia, also Arabella.

Cataline · 02/08/2009 21:25

I know a Sylvie! It's a beautiful name.

DS was going to be an Isla (2 yrs ago) and I'm so glad he was a boy as in that summer, there were about 5 Islas born in our village alone!

I'm not one for 'popular' names, It's not that I don't like them, more that I want a more unusual (but not ridiculous!) name for my DCs. Have only ever heard of a couple of boys with DSs name so it's worked so far!

Two of my friends have had girls this week and both are called Gracie. I suspect that is a new big name!

NotanOtter · 02/08/2009 21:53

Agree re Julia - absolutley mwah!

Loads of Grace and Gracies here

i hope you enjoy it - we love it!

jemart · 02/08/2009 22:52

Kevin

Go on, you know you secretly want a Kev in the family.

SilentBob · 02/08/2009 23:14

Cordelia and Isla for girls.

Arlo and Anatoly for boys.

tummytickler · 02/08/2009 23:38

Anatoly? Really?
Arlo definately.
And i know tons of Islas - i think that it going to be very dated, most will be born within a 5 year period i think (so dating people to those 5 years i guess)

fifitot · 03/08/2009 08:13

Stanley.

I second the following 'old' names:

Arthur
Quentin
Stanley

Cordelia
Violet
Nancy

Upsidedowncake · 03/08/2009 09:25

Our 13-month-old is called Dorothy, after mu husband's grandmother. From 1900 - 1930 it was the 3rd most popular name. Now it barely makes the top 1000!

Our 3-year-old boy is called Christian. Curiously in the States, it's mroe popular as a girl's name than as a boy's name.

pasturesnew · 03/08/2009 09:41

Honor, Dorothy, Joyce
Frank, Eric, Alan

Schulte · 03/08/2009 11:35

Definitely Frank. Our son was going to be called that but then we had a girl!

Violet and Rose seem to be very popular at the moment.

PuppyMonkey · 03/08/2009 16:22

I like to imagine naff 70s names coming back...

Barry, Trevor and Steve for a boy.

Wendy, Paula and Fiona for a girl.

Gill79 · 03/08/2009 16:23

My DS (18 months) is Malcolm. I love it (obviously!) Don't know any others.....

SilentBob · 03/08/2009 17:08

I have a friend with a wee Malcolm, Gill79!
