Love it but dp laughed his socks off when I suggested it.

Spoo · 29/07/2009 18:42

Like Barnaby Bear? Sorry. I think its nice really its just when there is a character on tele it's difficult not to think of them?.

Greensleeves · 29/07/2009 18:42

I think it's really sweet

go for it!

Greensleeves · 29/07/2009 18:43

and IME people will only think of TV characters etc before the baby is born - after that they will think of your baby

WinkyWinkola · 29/07/2009 18:44

I don't know Barnaby Bear.

pointydog · 29/07/2009 18:49

don't like it at all

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 29/07/2009 18:52

We're Barnaby and Becky, off to see the world......

Spoo · 29/07/2009 18:54

I actually agree with Greensleeves. My friends little boy is Milo and I have stopped thinking of the tweenies.

I do like Barnaby and Becky though.

We wish, we wish we were a fish!

It's the best boys name in the world! Warm and friendly with an artistic feel imo. Love the fact that Barnabas from the bible is known as the encourager.
My friends love our B's name and insists on using his name in full. Did have a four year old say "like Barnaby bear", he looked very impressed! Although I have yet to meet another one there were two in the local beautiful baby comp and another one announced in church.

Tillyscoutsmum · 29/07/2009 20:06

I love it. Barns/Barney are cool nicknames as well

maggievirgo · 29/07/2009 20:37

I do really like it, but it's just a bit too self-consciously urban chic. It works in enclaves of London!!! I prefer Gregory. It's less bear and more sport... I really like Zachary too, but that's a bit popular. I love names that end in y though. Jacoby? Is that a name?!

maggievirgo · 29/07/2009 20:38

I'm a girl and he's a bear,
together we make a perfect pair
it's becky and barnaby bear

Becky must be about 22 by now! that programme is so old!

Pollyanna · 29/07/2009 20:40

Becky is in Hollyoaks now!

I love the name too, but dh vetoed it for ds2

Cataline · 29/07/2009 20:43

"Barnaby the bear's my name, never call me Jack or James, I will sing my way to fame, Barnaby the bear's my name"

Love it. Fabulous name!!

maggievirgo · 29/07/2009 20:47

maggievirgo · 29/07/2009 20:48

IF you can call rambling 'round chester zoo with barnaby bear 'acting' lol.

janeite · 29/07/2009 21:26

Gregory is lovely too.

MollieO · 29/07/2009 21:31

Chief Inspector Barnaby....

Tamlin · 30/07/2009 12:29

I really like this one too, but am struggling to sell it to DH. I think of blond Barnaby from Susan Cooper's 'The Dark is Rising', and Barnaby of Margaret Mahy's 'The Haunting' - I don't know Barnaby the Bear!
