What do you think of the combination Hunter Elizabeth for a girl?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CantSleepWontSleep · 24/07/2009 07:49

Sounds like you're giving surname then first name.

Utterly preposterous.

Northernlurker · 24/07/2009 08:06

This name combo is a classic case of the hormones going to your head!

It's dreadful.

PLEASE think again.

minouminou · 24/07/2009 13:59

I actually quite like the name Hunter for a girl.
Which probably means you shouldn't do it.
You could think about Diana....goddess of the hunt....

ZZZenAgain · 24/07/2009 14:01

Hunter Elisabeth?

what gave you the idea?

hana · 24/07/2009 14:02

hunter is horrid name for a girl or boy

it's quite common in north america now

GetOrfMoiLand · 24/07/2009 14:03

Sounds like her name is backwards.

For her entire life she will have to explain that she is called Hunter Elizabeth, and not Elizabth Hunter.

I don't like Hunter as a name for a boy or a girl.

BonsoirAnna · 24/07/2009 14:05

Hunter is a terrible name.

msled · 24/07/2009 14:05

Hunter the Munter?
You do know what Hunt rhymes with?
I don't think it is a nice name for a girl at all.
Elizabeth on the other hand....

mrsradders · 24/07/2009 14:09

i think ifyou were having a boy hunter would be a fab first name but a bit masculine for a girl as a firs name, maybe add it as a middle if it is very improtant to you and maybe use as a pet name!!!

x

shouldweorshouldntwe · 24/07/2009 14:16

Really horrid, sorry (the Hunter bit).

pranma · 24/07/2009 14:20

Why not Elizabeth Hunter Surname-a bit like Joan Hunter-Dunn in the Betjeman poem?

teddygirl23 · 24/07/2009 15:39

elizabeth is a gorgeous name hunter im sorry i think its dreadfull.

DebiNewberry · 24/07/2009 15:57

come back op! come and tell us why you like it, what inspired you to think of it.

Don't be put off by these witches straight talkin' ladies.

totalmisfit · 07/08/2009 18:42

i remember watching the Sopranos and wondering whether Meadow's bf was really called Hunter or whether it was a weird american nickname. if (famous, fictional) yanks can't even pull it off...

hunkermunker · 07/08/2009 18:46

Hunker Elizabeth - mmm, that's got a ring to it

BitOfFun · 07/08/2009 18:50

Also, there is a rogue R in pronouncing it, as in hunter relizabeth because of the second name starting with a vowel.

Plus Hunter isn't very nice. How about Scout if you want a boyish but cute name?

hunkermunker · 07/08/2009 18:53

How about Stockard?

As in Channing?

MrsMc82 · 09/08/2009 23:14

Think Hunter is a bit odd for a name - any or girl i'm afraid.... I love my hunter wellies but thats all i can think of when i hear it!.... Sorry!!

MrsMc82 · 09/08/2009 23:16

Oops meant BOY or girl... Using my phone to browse - stupid predictive text!

RortyDogOfTheRemove · 09/08/2009 23:17

Yep, Hunter wellies here too. Four pairs of them. I could not take it seriously as a girl's name. Elizabeth is nice, though.

MaggieBelleVirgo · 09/08/2009 23:18

Hunter? That's kind of agressive, even for a boy. Hunting. Killing?

what's for short? 'Hunt'

Cunty Hunter...... omg. it's dreadful.

Elizabeth is lovely.

logi · 12/08/2009 00:05

I love the name hunter if i have another baby thats what i would choose.(smile)

logi · 12/08/2009 00:06

I love the name hunter if i have another baby thats what i would choose.

cthea · 12/08/2009 00:21

I don't like Hunter at all. Why Hunter? Elizabeth is lovely.

daisy78 · 12/08/2009 09:33

Elizabeth is a lovely name, but Hunter is awful in my opinion. I don't even like it for a boy. Sorry.

She's your baby though so if you like it go for it - but please give her the choice of using Elizabeth when she is older!
