Ellerby for a girl?

This is kind of a made up name i like (but DH has totally vetoed- sob).

I love the name Ella but with our surname it sounds a bit wrong as too many vowel sounds, so I came up with this. Seems its a place in Yorkshire (ooops!) or a surname but not really a first name.

Just wondered what Mnetters thought of it...

it sounds like the name of a village in Teesside. I can just imagine a sign for it pointing off the A19. Somewhere you'd never stop by unless you lived there.
