How would you pronounce Levi?

Been watching the Tour De France and have fallen in love with Levi Leipheimer and American rider.

I thought it would be pronounced Le-vi and that is how the commentators pronounce it but DH thinks it is pronounced Lev-i.

I pronounce it Lee Vi, but is it not a name of Hebrew origin pronounced Levvi?

Suwoo I think that is where DH is coming from.

I just love it. Maybe DC3 might be that(just need to persuade DH to ttc)
