Not overly keen on the name, sorry. Mainly because i keep thinking of the 'spreads easily' connotations.

I like the name Marjorie too! It's old fashioned, romantic, medieval, art deco and slightly bluestocking.

People might say, what about Marg Simpson or other tv characters, but it can't be dulled for me. It's not as stern as Margaret and much less ubiquitous and understated than just calling her the meaning of the name, which is Pearl.

For the middle name, it's difficult to say without knowing the number of syllables in your surname. I agree with some of the above and have added a few others!

Marjorie Alice
Marjorie Charlotte
Marjorie Louisa
Marjorie Genevieve
Marjorie Frances
Marjorie Helene/Helena
Marjorie Anne

My Nana was a Marjorie Cynthia, always known as Meg though. Depends on surname for ring to it and length. Although do think the above sounds nice.

HollyBunda · 10/07/2009 13:32

Leigh?

HollyBunda · 10/07/2009 13:33

I also like the sound of Katherine with it.

MamaLazarou · 10/07/2009 14:10

I suggest Marjorie Joy.

Lovely, under-used name. I know a wonderful Marjorie with the bluest eyes you have ever seen.

Lol at chicken named Margo mrsradders, that's my name ha ha! I was almost named Marjorie according to my mum. Tbh as a child was always quite relieved that my mum didn't pick it. However obviously trends change and I think if you love it go for it.

As for middle name, how about Rose?

coppola · 10/07/2009 17:26

Hero? Viola?

Tallulah is good.

lastboxoftampons · 10/07/2009 17:27

Marjorie Rose is very pretty.

I had a cabbage patch kid that was named Marjorie Roxanne So that's what I always think of immediately!

Wheelybug · 10/07/2009 17:29
