Cadelaide · 04/07/2009 14:58

one syllable i think

thelollipoplady · 04/07/2009 16:56

I agree cadelaide - one syllable best. And I'm trying to stay away from the J-J sound - as much as I love Jack, Jay and James as a middle name.

Like Elijah Zac from your list jellybean

What do you think of...

Elijah Finn
Elijah Bay
Elijah Blake
Elijah Scout

Do you have a J surname? Otherwise I immediately thought Elijah John would be great.

Alternatives might be

Elijah Paul
Elijah Mark
Elijah Alan
Elijah Neil
Elijah Adam
Elijah Luke
Elijah Scott
Elijah Ian
Elijah Owen
Elijah Max

I think that it works best with a more traditional middle name.

Those MILs....!

Did they think it was too biblical? Or just too hefty a name?

Thankfully DH likes it prob even more than I do. But still undecided... Should we just go for it?

I think just 'Elijah'.

It is such a beautiful name, why does it need anything else?

If there is no middle name which is pressing - a family name, for example, then maybe you shouldn't bother.

There's no rule which says that there has to be a middle name, so why not buck the trend?

ErikaMaye · 07/07/2009 10:51

I just think she didn't like it - quite possibly because it had been my suggestion rolls eyes Its such a lovely name. And even if its shortened by peers, that will be to Eli, and that's okay, too. I say go for it, lollipop!

audley · 07/07/2009 13:56

Elijah Bay is fab, I thought it needed a one syllable name starting with B too!
My DH said on Sunday he likes the name Elijah, it is unheard of for him to start a name conversation! I like it too

Meanbeansmum · 07/07/2009 14:14

As soon as I read you thread title I thought....

Elijah Benjamin

thelollipoplady · 07/07/2009 15:28

It's only tradition merle, my 2 other DCs have one-syllable middle names, so I'd like to keep it going so that newest one won't feel left out.

Elijah Ben - liking that too.
