What do people think? I really like it but I am not 100% sure!

No.

screamingabdab · 01/07/2009 18:16

Sorry, much as I love(d) Harrison Ford, it is a surname.

Frasersmum123 · 01/07/2009 18:18

I like it - it was on my list for DS2 but DH vetoed

CharlieandLolasMum · 01/07/2009 18:18

Sorry but of all the Harry's/Harrisons I've looked after known - they've all been little buggers darlings

monkeyfacegrace · 01/07/2009 18:20

I love it. Harrison was on my shortlist from about the age of 14, but unfort I got a dog before I had kids.....

Fimbo · 01/07/2009 18:20

Nope

MagNacarta · 01/07/2009 18:22

Common.

Bonneville · 01/07/2009 18:28

I don't like surnames as first names. Chavvy.

janeite · 01/07/2009 18:39

Nope from me, sorry.

southeastastra · 01/07/2009 19:05

harrison ford was not common

LyraSilvertongue · 01/07/2009 19:08

DS1 is Harrison on his birth certificate but he's just plain old Harry in everyday life.
And no, Chalieandlolasmum, he is not a little bugger. And he not even a little bit chavvy.

pinkpiggy · 01/07/2009 19:20

Thank you LyraSilvertongue - I was starting to think everyone would hate the name!

OrangeFish · 01/07/2009 19:23

Isn't it a surname?

EldonAve · 01/07/2009 19:25

I like it

cookielove · 01/07/2009 19:28

i love it, and i've worked with a lot of wotsits called harry, but still love the name, and its not chavvy, and its not common, well actually there are lots of harrys but not so many harrisons

Haribosmummy · 01/07/2009 19:33

I have a Harrison and he by no means chavvy but he can be a little bugger at times!

But like Lyra, mine is plain old Harry in every day life!

totalmisfit · 01/07/2009 19:34

dh would love to use this for our next dc. he's a huge star-wars and indiana jones fan (come to think of it, Indiana is another name he's angling for)

Haribosmummy · 01/07/2009 19:35

Actually, Harrison is no. 31 on the popular names list, so it is more popular than people think! (I was surprised to find that out!)

Check here

Harrison has been in the top 50 names for the last 5 or 6 years.

Haribosmummy · 01/07/2009 19:36

LOL at totalmisfit - We're expecting a DD shortly, and I love the name India, but i thought people might think I was a bit obsessed!!!

Bleatblurt · 01/07/2009 19:39

I know someone with a Harrison but he gets called Harry. I like it.

mopsyflopsy · 01/07/2009 20:05

I'm not that keen on it - sounds too much like surname.

SarahL2 · 01/07/2009 20:23

DH suggested it for DS but spoiled it by always referring to bump as "Harrison Ford Mondeo"

May go back on the list if we find out DC2 is a boy at the 20 week scan though as we really struggled for boys names with DS.

jellybeans · 01/07/2009 20:51

I don't like surnames as first names either but it's OK.

othersideofchannel · 01/07/2009 21:46

Not that keen at all, I'm afraid. Harry is cute, though.

lastboxoftampons · 02/07/2009 10:54

I like it. Especially if you'd like a Harry - so much better than Harold as a formal name!
