For girls names

I really like:

Coco ( have been told as in clown)
Ava ( far too common)

I like then both and although Ava is common it is lovely. Can you use coco as a nickname for a more formal?

We thought about Coco for a girl. It is very pretty but it's hard to pull off.

Hazel is another more normal nutty name

Ava I just find a bit meh- I don't like Eva much either, but I love Eve.

I really like Coco. Courtney Cox and Jo Whiley both named their babies this and I know 3 where I live. I also know two Avas.

Coco is awful. And there will be a lot more around given the Coco Chanel film that's out at the moment.

Ava is lovely but very popular. It is the name of Mylene Klass' daughter.

Personally, think Coco is a bit shi shi (sp?); Monica from Friends actress chose it, but then again, so did Jo Wylie, so perhaps it has some credibility.

Coco - not good. Clown comes to mind. Or "a mug of hot cocoa".

Ava, I'm surprised it's common, its not common round here, I don't know ANY kids called Ava!

Coco- hmm. Not a great baby name, fab stripper name though. I knew a grown-up who renamed herself Coco by deed poll. She had a chanel obsession. Came across as somewhat tacky and 'try-hard'

The correct pronunciation of Eva in most of the world is Ava, and I like it better this way, in fact I love it pronounced Ava and spelt Eva. Reason mainly that Ava is too Avian flu and celebbed out.

Ava is lovely. Was our second-choice name for our DD

I do like Coco too, but can't stand Jo Whiley so the fact that her daughter is called Coco would be enough to put me off using it ...!
