Hello,

So I'm now 22 weeks and names list just get harder and harder.

Boys

Like Finlay but it is getting rather comon. So insteed have come up with Stanley which I know of course will be shortened to Stan. I think little Stan is rather sweet.

Middle name woudl be Brian so

Finlay Brian
Stanley Brian

Girls

There are 4 here before being pregant we always said Aisha for a girl but the more I say it to people to more I get reactions such as "oh sound like an forigen name" or just "humm" so welcome your comments. The other 3 girls name in consideration are Erica, Eve and Zoe

As for middle name for girls we have not thought of one.

Aisha
Erica
Eve
Zoe

Look forward to you comments

I much prefer Stanley to Finlay - you cant swing a cat without hitting a Finlay 'round these parts and i am soooooo bored with it.
A little Stan is very cute though!

I am afraid i really dont like Aisha - not because it sounds foreign or anything (have you seen my post on Shiphrah ) i just really do not like it.

I like Erica - it is smart, simple, unusual yet well known. It is classic and i dont think it will date your child to the 2ooo's they way Aisha i think would.

I like Eve as well (but not Evie).
Zoe is OK, but washes straight past me without me noticing it really.

So Stanley and Erica for me (well, you!)

stanley getting fairly common now too. well, it is round here anyway.
finley and stanley are both lovely names though

my faves from your girl list are Erica and Zoe.
I heard someone talking about a Zoe the other day and thought what a lovely, underused name it is

janeite · 21/06/2009 20:18

I like Eve a lot and don't mind Aisha. Hate Erica and Zoe and dislike all of the boys' names, sorry.

simplesusan · 21/06/2009 20:28

The only one I like is Eve.
Zoe is passable.
Sorry do not like Stanley and really don't like Stanley Brian.

donandpea · 21/06/2009 20:46

Thanks for input folks its very intresting to read your feed back.

As for Brian for middle name we are not 100% sure we will give the child a middle name.

Really love Erica, not keen at all on Aisha.

I like both of your boys names. Not that keen on Brian, but presumed it was a family name?

mrsnoname · 21/06/2009 21:03

In defence of the name Aisha - I think it's lovely. I live in London and know quite a few little (and big) Aishas, but all of them are either black, asian or mixed race. Therefore I personally wouldn't associate it with white children. Not sure which ethnic group you belong to...

donandpea · 21/06/2009 21:04

Yes Brian is husband father name whom I never got to meet bless him.

Stanley is awful. Finlay is ok.

Eve is nice as is Zoe.

19fran76 · 21/06/2009 21:21

Stanley is a charming name. Don't care for any of the girls names much.

jellybeans · 22/06/2009 10:28

I like Finlay and Eve.

BunnyLebowski · 22/06/2009 11:28

Finlay is done to death now. Stan is very cool!

Aisha is dreadful

Erica is growing on me, unusual and strong

Zoe is meh

Eve is beautiful but it has to be Eve for me not the pretty but over used Evie.

Nancy66 · 22/06/2009 17:38

another vote for Stan over Finley.
Aisha is dead chavvy and doesn't really go with your other choices.

cyteen · 22/06/2009 17:44

Hate Erica, love Zoe. Eve is also nice but lots of them. Aisha is actually a nice name but I can't see it without mentally hearing 'Ay-EEEE-shAAAAAAAA, get ere NAAAAAAA!' [judgey]

Finlay is nice but again, there's loads. Stanley - not my bag.
