My oh is set on this, if not for a first name then a middle.
I was pleased with the comments our (probable) girl's name received: Joyce Isabella.
So what do you think of Moriarty for a boy?

I am going against the grain here but I love it and have considered it as a middle name if I am ever lucky to have a ds! I also love Malachy.

Theimperialcharliecat · 17/06/2009 10:59

lucky enough I mean

EyeballsandherSunburntNorks · 17/06/2009 11:10

I can hear it in an Irish accent. Not sure about any others though

gladders · 17/06/2009 11:40

moriarty is silly

malachy is v sweet

how about morty - heard it on holiday - an improvement on moriarty at least? (assume was short for mortimer?)

or monty

LittleWhiteWolf · 17/06/2009 12:37

I actually like it, but then again my dad named our cat Moriaty and we called him Mozzie for short so I have good memories associated with the name. Albeit for a cat...

Paperclipcollector · 19/06/2009 12:21

Moriarty is an Irish surname I think?

PuppyMonkey · 19/06/2009 12:24

I went to school with a Noel and a Liam Moriarty. (I know, what are the chances???)

It's a great surname. Not so good as a first name.

madnortherner · 19/06/2009 12:39

Morty's good, Gladders - cute for a LO and cool when older I feel.

Also a good comprimise with OH perhaps, loveofotters?

Cicatrice · 19/06/2009 22:33

Moriarty is a great name for a cat. But not a person.
