WDYT of these names?

Quite like both of these @ the moment for girls but not sure which would be better. DS name begins with a Z so not sure whether its better to avoid repeating that letter? (although not a major issue)

Just interested to hear what people think of them

Very weird, never heard of them before and don't know how to pronounce them - it's a no from me I'm afraid

wrinklytum · 15/06/2009 21:36

I think they are both very pretty. Are they Arabic?(Ignoramus emoticon).

I work with an Arabic lady called Safia and think this is a beautiful name, also

AitchTwoOh · 15/06/2009 21:36

are you glamorous and furrin? cos if not...

RockinSockBunnies · 15/06/2009 21:36

Don't like either, sorry. I wouldn't know how to pronounce them.

FenellaFudge · 15/06/2009 21:38

Neither, but if pushed - prefer Zayana.
Are these names from a different culture/ language?
If so, and the different culture/ language has some relevance to your family, then fine but if they're made up words then noooooooooooo.

GooseyLoosey · 15/06/2009 21:40

Could go for Zayana if its a real name with cultural relevance for you. Otherwise, niether for me.

Firawla · 15/06/2009 21:44

yes they are arabic, we would only pick arabic names. sorry that wasn't clear

In that case, I like Zayana.

AnarchyAunt · 15/06/2009 21:47

I prefer Rayhana - what does it mean?

limonchik · 15/06/2009 21:47

Might be better to avoid repeating the Z, but I think Zayana is lovely. Does ds's start with the same Zay sound?

littleducks · 15/06/2009 21:49

I like them both but prob would go for Zayana, i have never seen Rayhana spelt like that so it might grow on me (funny how nams do that)

What are the meanings?

Firawla · 15/06/2009 21:49

His starts with Ziy (sound is like zee)

OP posts:
Firawla · 15/06/2009 21:50

Agree does depend on on the sound of ds name i agree, Zakariah and Zayana is fine but Zain and Zayana might be OTT

hester · 15/06/2009 22:00

I like them both, specially Rayhana.

Nancy66 · 15/06/2009 23:19

Love the meanings - hate the names!
