Mia is quite popular. I prefer Lia

I like Maya too

Should Helina be Helena ?

On similar lines, I like Lara and Lyra

screamingabdab · 12/06/2009 14:50

Or Leah

lal123 · 12/06/2009 15:06

think Helina should be Halina - odd internet name dp came up with - spologies to any halina's reading this!

Lara - too Lara crofty - or that mouthy Doctor off Casualty/Holby City!

Maya would be my favourite, then Leah - I don't like the spelling 'Lia' though because it's too close to 'liar'

CoteDAzur · 12/06/2009 15:35

Spell it Maia - Greek goddess known for her beauty.

Maya is a South African civilization. Probably not what you want to name your daughter.

lastboxoftampons · 12/06/2009 15:47

I like Maya or Mia.
Also LOVE Helena, but I don't think that's what you had in mind.

misschatterbox · 12/06/2009 15:54

Think that's South American Civilization , but what would be wrong with a South African Civilization? I like the name Maia.

CoteDAzur · 12/06/2009 17:07

S. American, obviously

loobylu3 · 12/06/2009 19:31

We have a Maia so love that
Mia is okay.
Really dislike the other two.

chaya5738 · 12/06/2009 19:56

Maya is a Hebrew name too. It means water.

So it isn't just a South American civilisation.

Very pretty name. I also like Leah and Helena.

shadowofacow · 12/06/2009 20:00

all the leah's i have known have been gorgeous little things. love that name.

loobylu3 · 12/06/2009 20:29

Oh, Maya is also an Indian name meaning ' illusion' in Sanskrit so it seems to have a significant meaning in lots of cultures which is on thing we really liked about it.

jellybeans · 13/06/2009 10:40

I love Mia.

peppapig3 · 13/06/2009 19:20

I like Maya and Mia, also Helena but not Halina.

magbags · 14/06/2009 09:51

Horton · 14/06/2009 10:00

Maya is my favourite from your list. I don't really like the others.
