No, don't like it sorry.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 09/06/2009 20:05

Dreadful I'm afraid

hf128219 · 09/06/2009 20:07

It's a girl's name. Seas are female.

rubyslippers · 09/06/2009 20:08

terrible

Flamesparrow · 09/06/2009 20:25

I like Ocean.

I may be a freak though.

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 09/06/2009 20:27

No no no no no.

caspered · 09/06/2009 20:34

I think Ocean is a fabulous name. Love it and if you do to, go for it!!

MrsMcCluskey · 09/06/2009 20:36

I quite like it
My nephew is Osian - a Welsh name pronounced Oshan - ( soft o)

NotSoRampantRabbit · 09/06/2009 20:43

I know a 4 year old Ocean.

He ends up being called Oshe by everyone.

Last time DH and I took him on a day out with our DS, DH asked me if he could rename him Ben for the day as he was finding the constant calling for "Ocean" a little embarrassing.

He's a lovely lad in spite of his affliction.

Deemented · 09/06/2009 21:04

I know an Ocean and he's gorgeous! Tis a lovely name and it suits him well.

marmoset · 09/06/2009 21:08

Good grief - no! Do you not know any small boys - they are merciless once they get in a playground.

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 09/06/2009 21:14

Its OK.

As long as your surname is not 's Eleven,
's Twelve or 'Thirteen....

Pingpong · 09/06/2009 22:51

I prefer Ossian but I wouldn't use it.
But if you like it then use it.
Depends on your surname
Ocean Smith sounds a bit hmmmm

BananaFruitBat · 09/06/2009 22:54

Nice for a little boy, vile for a 45yr old man.

Think ahead!

Spidermama · 09/06/2009 22:54

I think it's lovely.

I also know a really great teenager with the name so perhaps I'm biased.

I love the sound it makes. It's a beautiful word.

hullygully · 09/06/2009 22:55

What's wrong with Sandpit or Swamp?

MollieO · 09/06/2009 23:03

I'd start off with Paddling Pool and leave Ocean until he's a bit older - and after Olympic(swimming pool).

Quattrocento · 09/06/2009 23:09

Too big and overwhelming. Pond would be better, I think

Thunderduck · 09/06/2009 23:10

Let me put it gently. Good god no!

BananaFruitBat · 09/06/2009 23:13

Acksherly, I'm starting to quite like the idea of having a 'sensible' reason for using the nickname 'Puddle'.
