Middle name to go with Florence?

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help. We have pretty much decided on Florence for our daughter (due in October) but can't think of a middle name to go with it.

Our son has an unusual first name and a more common middle name, and ideally we'd like to repeat this pattern with our daughter. Our surname is Jones.

Has anyone got any ideas please?

Thanks

I like Mary

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/06/2009 15:12

Elizabeth sits nicely..

Sazisi · 09/06/2009 15:13

Rose would go nicely

Or how about Olivia

DiamondHead · 09/06/2009 15:13

Olive

Sazisi · 09/06/2009 15:14

Sorry, only just seen the Jones part; Rose wouldn't really work..

I do like the name but you are alive to the Flo-Jo possibilities arent you? Maybe I'm just showing my age!

browntrout · 09/06/2009 15:22

with your surname I meant.

CravingOlives · 09/06/2009 15:24

DiamondHead, we called the baby 'Olive' before we found out the sex as I have craved olives (by the jar or pot full) with both my pregnancies. Sadly Mr CO will not entertain it as a proper name. Boo to him!

Thanks for the suggestions. I really like Elizabeth, Emily and Olivia from those lists. I love the name Rose, but I'm not sure it sounds quite right either.

My other first name choices (note the my, husband not sure about these either!) were Ivy, Poppy and Violet, but I don't think any work in combination with Florence.

browntrout, I am probably showing my age now (late 20s), or my ignorance, but I had no idea what you were on about until I Googled. I assume you mean the athlete? Oh dear, I hadn't thought about that at all. Gah.

I do mean the athlete. She was quite glam though and had incredibly ornate fingernails. It may not affect your choice at all (after all, it was a wee while ago) but better to consider and discount it than find out after the naming!

Nothing beginning with an 'a' as would give unfortunate initials! Don't have any brilliant suggestions though do like Emma as a middle name.
