Middle name for Poppy

Despite my sisters attempt to put me off the name, dh & I have decided to stick with Poppy for dd2 (due in 6 days! ) as we've loved it from the start and will only regret it if we change it because of someone elses opinion.

So now need a middle name. Here are a few on the shortlist (please criticise) but open to any other suggestions as none of them are definate yet:

Poppy Faye
Poppy Amber
Poppy Emma
Poppy Elisabeth
Poppy Heather
Poppy Evelyn

Poppy Faye - Bit of a mouthful, I don't think so.
Poppy Amber - fine
Poppy Emma - fine
Poppy Elisabeth - the best one by far as you don't have the 2 syllable/2 syllable problem. I would spell Elizabeth though.
Poppy Heather - this seems odd as it's two plants together but completely unrelated ones. Like Thistle avocado
Poppy Evelyn - also pretty good

oliviasmama · 08/06/2009 06:33

Poppy Elizabeth if it were my choice from your list, really not very keen on Poppy Heather.

Poppy Florence?....Any excuse for Florence, love it.

Buda · 08/06/2009 06:48

Seed? (Sorry! Poppy is lovely really!)

Elizabeth out of the ones on your list but make sure the initials don't spell anything when added to your surname. DH almost became ARS!

What about Katherine/Catherine?

Deemented · 08/06/2009 08:07

I like Poppy Lou - not really keen on any from your list, sorry.

fizzpops · 08/06/2009 08:16

We have a Poppy Emma - but that is because my friend is called Emma (i do love the name though).

Someone suggested Kate a while ago.

Louisa?
Charlotte?

GooseyLoosey · 08/06/2009 08:17

I would go for quite a traditional name for the middle name in case she ever wants to use something more "grown up". So would pick any of the ones starting with "E".

MaggieBee · 08/06/2009 08:19

Poppy Elizabeth definitely sounds best.
Poppy Eleanor
Poppy Louisa
Poppy Juliet
They all work too.

Fimbo · 08/06/2009 08:43

Poppy Louise

Poppy Susannah

KingRolo · 08/06/2009 08:47

A one or three syllable second name sounds best with a two syllable first name I think so from your list I'd go with Poppy Faye or Poppy Elizabeth.

Comewhinewithme · 08/06/2009 08:50

I have a Poppy Louise .

Fimbo · 08/06/2009 08:59

Poppy Louise is the best.

Great choice Comewhinewithme

A friend has a Poppy Leigh. Poppy Elisabeth is my favorite from your list.

oliviasmama · 08/06/2009 09:26

Oooh I like Poppy Louise too

TwoSunnyDays · 08/06/2009 11:29

Poppy Elisabeth

Bathsheba · 08/06/2009 11:55

My Poppy is Poppy Charlotte

She was almost Poppy Alice or Poppy Louise

Wheelybug · 08/06/2009 11:58

We were going to call DD1 Poppy Elizabeth. Changed our minds on the Poppy but still think its a great combination.

Poppity · 08/06/2009 11:58

Poppy Saffron

Poppy Phillipa

I like Evelyn from your list

MamaG · 08/06/2009 11:59

MamaG · 08/06/2009 12:00
