Not the a's which bother me, it's just the similarity to Ave Maria which would irk me.

sassy · 03/06/2009 13:58

Pretty, but it does make me think Ave Mareeeeiah

sassy · 03/06/2009 13:59

Xpost with sofa queen!

Fimbo · 03/06/2009 14:00

Doesn't flow.

Evie Marie?

Eva Marion?

Stumblebum · 03/06/2009 14:01

Early pregnancy hormones, but I did have that hymn blasting in my head when I did the test, and then the name popped in my head so thought it was a sign!!

Do like Eva though.

What about Eva Mary?

Tortington · 03/06/2009 14:03

sounds like AVE maria - whic is quite a popular prayer. and hymn

ave maria gratia plena, Dominus tecum, benedicta tuuuuuuuu

Rhubarb · 03/06/2009 14:03

Amen.

vacaloca · 03/06/2009 14:04

Twas the name of my best friend in school. Hadn't thought about the hymn but now that you mention it... How often would you use both names together though?

Stumblebum · 03/06/2009 14:04

Custardo - that is what I had in my head for NO apparent reason.

Think I'm going mad.

Glad you wer'nt singing songs from grease, you might have up with Frenchie

sockmonster · 03/06/2009 14:19

Haha, I think either name is fine just not together, for the Ave Mariiia reason.
Use Eva it's lovely, but with a different middle name.

Also- with Maria as a middle name, it's frequently traditionally used as a middle name for boys in spain and other countries, so I kind of irrationally worry that using it as a middle name will provoke taunts of 'haha you're a boy' for the child. Unlikely here though. Hmm...

Eva Marie? Eva Sofia? Eva Lucia? Eva Rizzo?

MrsBonJovi · 03/06/2009 14:22

Sorry just reminds me of Ave Maria...

VeryAnnieMary · 03/06/2009 18:09

I like it - doesn't jar to me. But you could use Evelina Mary as an alternative.

simplesusan · 03/06/2009 23:28

Eva is nice but do use another middle name, too close to Ave Maria.

mickeylou · 04/06/2009 14:50

i would go for Eva Marie instead of Maria.

BonsoirAnna · 04/06/2009 14:51

No - as others have said, it is too close to Ave Maria. And a bit boring.

MrsMattie · 04/06/2009 17:06

I think it's lovely.

I prefer Anna-Maria, though.

Also, Marie isn't half as nice as Maria.

Marie = plain girl who works at supermarket checkout
Maria = gorgeous girl with dark eyes and wiggly hips

I did once know a French girl called Marie-Eve (pronounced Marry-Eve)

McDreamy · 04/06/2009 17:09

Sounds like a hymn! But each pretty names on their own.

Bucharest · 04/06/2009 17:10

It sounds like a dodgy Eurovision Song Contest entrant.

ilikeyoursleeves · 04/06/2009 17:16

My neice is Anna-Maria (as in one name, not a first and middle name) and I still sing Aaaaaaaaaaannnnnaaaaa Marrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyaaaaaa every time I think of her!

Bit too much of a mouthful I think...

elle23 · 05/06/2009 12:55

I like it

qumquat · 08/06/2009 10:19

I like it, I don't think the Ave Maria thing matters as how often will people actualy ue both names together? Both beautiful names and they flow together really nicely.

missmama · 08/06/2009 10:23

We have an Eva Maria
and an Ava Maria - she is actually named from the prayer

Both beautiful names
