Have name changed as I don't want to out my surname on my normal profile.

So we have a surname that starts Pl with 2 syllables.

I really like the name Philippa and was hoping as it phonetically starts with an "F" that I could get away with it...the only problem being we wanted to use the nickname Pippa........Pippa Pl*** - is it too much, or would anyone really care?

Would really appreciate everyone?s thoughts on this as my DH is being particularly unhelpful, "I dunno" being his standard response!

MrsPsNameDilema · 28/05/2009 15:50

Its a very unusual surname - in fact if you google it you ONLY get me and my husband and my FIL so it would out me as a MNetter....not a bad thing but don't really want to iykwim......

i have a Philippa known as Pippa and a two syllable surname starting with B so phonetically similar to you. It's never occurred to me that it could be a problem so I would have thought you'd be fine.

Thanks TrillianAstra - I've always loved the name, guess I should have tried harder for DH to take my maiden name then we wouldn't have this problem!!

I know a Phillipa, only ever known as Pippa, whose surname starts with P, and I think it suits her and sounds lovely. Her initials spell out PIP too

OK I'm taking all your yeah's and running - just got to convince DH now!

Thanks everyone
