What do people think of the name Helena?

Reminds me of a dreadful woman I used to work with. Unless you are talking Helayna rather than Helen-a. IUYSWIM.

Katharine will be the middle name, which is my name, and also Greek in origin. 23 weeks pg at the mo' but dh and I were just discussing names. We can cal her Nel or Lena for short.

Other names on short list were : Louisa, Victoria, or Suzanne.

Helena is a lovely name - much prefer it to the other 3 on your list.

Louisa is by far my favourite of your names but Helena is ok. I like how it sounds but don't think it looks pretty written - too much like Helen.

Lots of people will pronounce it Helayna - I know two who call themselves that.

pretty - I like it. I don't know any Helena's only Helens so no one to put me off it

I like it a lot. I also like the Russian form, Yelena.

I prefer just Elena. But I also prefer Anna to Hannah. the HUH sound makes it less attractive imo

Elena and Ylenia are lovely.
