Georgia? What do you think?

Am considering Georgia for a girl but don't know if its just the hormones. its about the only one that me and DH agree on. Also any ideas for middle names to go - wanted something v feminine to counteract the 'George'

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Georgia Rose

pinkteddy · 25/05/2009 19:20

Georgia Rose
Georgia May
Georgia Ann

I like it. She will be called George though (have a Georgina friend, everyone calls her George!)

Paolosgirl · 25/05/2009 19:21

I love it, although it's very popular.

foxinsocks · 25/05/2009 19:21

no one has ever called the Georgia in my family George!

rubyslippers · 25/05/2009 19:21

love it

auntierissy · 25/05/2009 19:22

Unfortunately my DD's middle nane is Rose, and we are not allowed to use May as it was a horrid Auntie of my DH!!!Like Ann though

I love and don't associate it with George at all!

spicemonster · 25/05/2009 19:23

I have a friend called Georgia. Her name never gets shortened to George. I think it's lovely and when she gets married she can have Sweet Georgia Brown and Georgia on my Mind played at her wedding

Kbear · 25/05/2009 19:29

DD has a friend called Georgia and she's never been called George either! I suppose it could depend on whether that particular Georgia/Georgina is tomboyish and they shorten it themselves.

CoffeeCrazedMama · 25/05/2009 19:34

Georgia Clare?

auntierissy · 25/05/2009 19:36

That is pretty - also happens to be my middle name! Although it appears about number 50 in the baby name charts, I have never heard of another one...

Bored of one syllable middle names, although I do like Rose - go for something more adventurous.
what other names do you like, I can't think of much that doesn't go.

forkhandles · 25/05/2009 20:05

I love the name Georgia and it's not popular round here

auntierissy · 25/05/2009 20:16

I quite like Georgia Blue, or Georgia Bluebell, but wonder if its a bit 'out there' the Granny's might not approve!

Bumperlicioso · 25/05/2009 20:20

I like it, it may be on our list next time.

Georgia Elizabeth?

pipsy76 · 25/05/2009 20:32

beautiful name if DH hs any x sperm I might use it one day. I love the song Georgia on my mind.

SugarSkyHigh · 25/05/2009 20:36

my dd is called that.
I still love the name!
Never called George for short - only Georgie.

Wolfblass · 27/05/2009 22:45

My 5 year old dd is a Georgia

Georgia Mae

Love the name, she is shortened to Georgie and i have called her George, but not very often.

We only ever met another Georgia on holiday last year and she is Greek - people do tell me it's quite popular though.

Pingpong · 27/05/2009 23:10

I know lots of Claire's ! (not babies though)
I like keeping family names so I think Georgia Clare sounds great.

MollieO · 27/05/2009 23:21

Ds was Georgia until the 20 week scan. In fact he was Georgia for a couple of weeks after that too (took me a while to get a grip on the fact I was having a boy!).

jellybeans · 28/05/2009 14:45

I like it but it was very common a few years ago, there are loads of primary and secondary age Georgias in each class at DDs school.

Middle names..

Brooke

Elise
Alyssa

we are planning on calling our little one Georgina if she is a girl after my granny...and have every intention of shortening it to George and Georgie. I love the name Georgia, I used to live there (the one in the US) and have great memories. I personally think George is cool for a girl so wouldnt't worry if Georgia was shortened to George.

willowstar · 29/05/2009 13:37

sorry, just re-read your message...this is a bit out there, but how about Georgia Peach? Georgia (the state) is famous for its luscious peaches. just an idea :-)

Madmentalbint · 29/05/2009 13:54

I love the name Georgia. I like Georgina, George and Georgie too.

What about

Georgia Amy
Georgia Frances
Georgia Elizabeth
Georgia Isabel
Georgia Molly
Georgia Hannah
Georgia Anastasia
Georgia Kate
Georgia Mabel - my fave

boodleboot · 29/05/2009 14:52
