I say Eeevlyn for female and Evlyn for male
I have a ddd with evelyn as her middle name named after her grandmother and great grandmother

Plonker · 23/05/2009 23:32

Eve - lyn

...prefer this to Ev - lyn or Ev - e - lyn

bronze · 23/05/2009 23:32

I prefer Eeevlyn (eve-lyn) btw

Claire2009 · 23/05/2009 23:33

Ev-Lyn

feedthegoat · 23/05/2009 23:33

Same as Plonker.

diedandgonetodevon · 23/05/2009 23:35

Eve-lyn for a girl. Ev-lyn for a boy.

PlumBumMum · 23/05/2009 23:36

Ev a lyn

Paolosgirl · 23/05/2009 23:39

Ev-lyn

It's MIL's name, so I tend to pronounce it Evil-lyn when referring to her.

Bleatblurt · 23/05/2009 23:39

Ev - e - lyn.

mollymawk · 23/05/2009 23:43

I would say Ever-lin

Lovely name btw

LOL at feedthegoat's answer: "How would you pronounce Evelyn?" - "Same as Plonker"

feedthegoat · 23/05/2009 23:46

Didn't think that one through did I? I think it's a lovely name btw, I was being dim not sarcastic!

tigana · 23/05/2009 23:48

evlyn but think eevelyn is nicer.

mollymawk · 23/05/2009 23:50

It's late feedthegoat, that can be your excuse!

BikeRunSki · 23/05/2009 23:50

Lovely name. Was granny's name, wanted to use it, but 1 - DH is Adam and 2 - DC was a boy!
I would pronounce Eva Lyn.

muggglewump · 23/05/2009 23:50

I'd say Ev-er-lyn.
I like the name Eve-lyn, but I do think it's going the same way as Caitlin.
Lovely name but there's ten in each year.

Sorry.

feedthegoat · 23/05/2009 23:51

Thanks for the get out clause mollymawk!

mollymawk · 23/05/2009 23:51

I know someone called Evelyne (she is French) pronounced Ever-leen. Just another suggestion...
